DEKO, from The Last Resort has been banned by ClanBase.
Yesterday evening DEKO was banned by ClanBase for cheating in an official match, a 12 month playing penalty was received as a result.
Whilst the Call of Duty 4 scene is constantly filled with accusations of cheaters, onliners and such, it is very rare that a player will actually be banned. Yet this is the fate that DEKO has received from ClanBase. DEKO as many will know rose into the LAN scene with a 2nd place finish with YoYoTech at i36 back in April 2009, and since performed at LAN79 and many others.
The evidence? A few timestamps on a TDM demo from a 2v2 on mp_shipment. The demo can be found here. According to the match conflict a unanimous verdict was reached in regards to him using a wallhack in the game.
The bulk of the community has already rallied to DEKO's support, and criticised ClanBase, labelling their decision as poor based on a demo that did not obviously contain cheating and is therefore innocent until proven guilty.
It is yet unknown as to whether DEKO will use the ClanBase Appeals system to argue his case and have his ban lifted.
Cadred are going to be putting their investigator hats on and try and come to the bottom of this. Expect an article with quotes from not only the accused, but hopefully the ClanBase admins themselves to see if we can fully understand why DEKO has been given a ban.

he got banned for mp_crash btw, at least the timestamps are for crash and not for shipment... oh and i played some 1on1 shipment @ ESL too... kinda funny when u know all the respawn points :D

nothing special, good reflexes with great aim, bad cb, bad.
2-3 lotto frags and even there he had seen the enemy few secs before, normal to preshoot walls then.

The decision has clearly been made by people with very little experience.
This is just a lack of experience from the cb staff
cb better get some experienced admins that knows how to ban not just by a fkin 2v2 demo ,
and i know that all the crossfire users that are playing cod4 at a high standart knows that this is pure bullshit.

nice done clownbase, now keep on banning innocent ppl and let the hackers rule the game
oh and btw, this doesnt has much to do with me personally imo. All this attention is just to point out how clueless CB can be sometimes. I mean, why would you ban someone on a few peoples personal opinion about a demo.
