Yesterday evening the Groups for the Quake Live ESL Intel Extreme Masters Season 4 European Championship Finals were announced with some changes in the participating players. The final (?) player list and the groups for the event to be played between January 21st and 24th at the ESL Studios in Cologne, Germany are the following:
Group A:
Maciej "srs/rzr/av3k" Krzykowski
Sebastian "fnatic/spart1e" Siira
Gareth "dignitas/GaRpY" Marshall
Benjamin "mTw|calipt" Jakob
Group B:
Anton "mouz.Cooller" Singov
Kévin "fnatic/strenx" Baeza
Alexander "xlo-Z4muZ" Ihrfors
Jeffrey "LLL*draven" DebipersadGroup C:
Alexey "srs/rzr/cypher" Yanushevsky
Marcel "k1llsen" Paul
Pierre-E "fnatic/l1nkje" Portier
Dan "dignitas/zsx" Sanders
Group D:
Alessandro "stermy" Avallone
Magnus "mouz.fox" Olsson
Richard "noctis" Gansterer
Romain "LLL*dem0n" LeclercqTogether with groups a schedule for the whole event was released, the schedule for the first day is the following:
Thursday - 21 January:
14:00 CET to 17:20 CET - Group A matches
18:20 CET to 21:40 CET - Group B matches
As you can see whole four days have been dedicated to just for Quake Live as the Counter-Strike 1.6 and World of Warcraft finals were played last week. The plan for the ESL-TV is to broadcast every single game apart from the last round in the groupstage so be sure to cancel everything you had planned for the weekend as the Quake is coming!
So what's at stake here? I can tell you that, the top 6 will get a spot in the World Championship finals held in March. And that's not all, the top 8(?) will get a share from the $9,000 prize purse.
Got interested? Then I suggest you to head to Tek-9 where you can find crow asking nine of the finalists how they feel prior to the event.
