Return to Castle Wolfenstein returns again in 2010 with the fourth edition of RtCW-Cup. It has been nearly 9 months since RtCW-Cup 3 with the release of 'Wolfenstein' bringing hope to rekindle a community, sadly it was not to be. Early XMAS Cup run by twister proved that people still want to play RtCW and we hope that continues over the coming months.
This edition of the cup sees the introduction of our website, www.RTCW-CUP.co.uk, as a source for your RtCW needs. It also sees the return of the 3on3 competition, based on sign ups, which we hope will improve the cups.
Currently we are on the lookout for anyone interested in lending a hand in certain areas like WTV camming, news writers, interviewers or basically anything you think you can offer to make this a better experience. Anyone interested in this should pm an myself or any other admin - we have already had a lot of offers and I will be contacting these people again soon to get a better idea on who is still interested.
The 3on3 sign ups are now open, we would ask that you do not limit your roster to only 3 players as the cup cannot be slowed down if someone is not available, forfeits will be handed out to keep the cup running smoothly and on schedule. Currently sign ups are limited to 16, if this is surpassed we may think about expanding the competition. We are undecided on format currently, it will either be a one-day cup double-elim or a group-stage then double elimination playoff over the course of a week.
More details on the 6on6 cup will come soon, but currently we are aiming for at least 16 teams, there will be first a group stage and then a double elimination playoff - a consolation playoff is also something that could happen. The Grand Final for RtCW-Cup 4 will be on Thursday 10th June or earlier.
The rules section of our site is still under construction - more rules will be added before each of the cups start.
So please mark your interest by signing up to RtCW-Cup website at www.RTCW-CUP.co.uk - we would recommend you get your team mates signed up now as well.

Sorry for putting you through this, but long run it will be less work for you and admins of any cup :P
gonna be a nice cup again gj merl =)
I mean for example on ice if you do the south jump really well then you should be rewarded by being out of north first , which isn’t possible if boosting is allowed (any semi-decent strafer will still stop you getting out of flag at north).
Also I just think weapon boosting is bad.
The game was designed with normal movement speed to be assumed not weapon boosting. The maps are balanced so the timing is fair for both sides (especially ice and village first stages).
Also air strikes and grenades are weapons and that’s going to have all sorts of consequences!
All other members of the community who were in the channel agreed and also thought its always been banned anyway.
Just sounds like youre scared of KiH and fette's strafing and want to get rid of their "advantage" by allowing boosting ;)
and whats with the disallowing doorway-blocking? ppl have always done that on beach.
Cant find ANY logic why you should change these rules, which have been the samefor CENTURIES .
(dictator stated why the other one shouldnt, I cba to state why the other one blablbal dont care enough atm xD)
(just for info, last cups we didnt put an real rules down on papar, and people boosted... :) )
It's easy to enforce lol. If demos show someone was boosted then they lose the round. (Everyone has to take demos).
Basically you can tell by the clock too. Just get fette to do some standard times if someone is faster they boosted.
Seems none of the "top" teams did it anyway it doesnt matter much.
If you suspect someone has done it then you can ask to check demos (Maybe a good strafer can get some times for axis north spawn to flag to help).
If they cant provide demos (they'll have at least 2 to provide) then they lose the round.
Maybe just state in a further news post that this is the new rule.
I put this in the current one when I originally posted, as we just wanted to get the sign ups out there - thought this would be enough for the moment.
Sadly , i havn't yet devloped the power to predict whether this was one of the rules that would be added at a later date so i thought i should ask.
Besides since you said no objective boosting it implied normal boosting was fine.
