Tonight we've got two AEF teams taking it up on a brand new map. Erdenberg will be the battlefield for a rematch between Impact Gaming and belgian Fraternity! On AEF these two teams fought it out in the first round of the Winner Bracket, which Impact won 4 to 0, but it surely wasn't such an easy win as the scores might make you believe. Belgian Fraternity went on to beat Overload, while Impact made it to the finals.
Tonight we will see the same two teams in a friendly (really?) showmatch to present the community the new map by sani, Erdenberg b1. You can read all about this new map here.

Next to two top teams we will also bring you the one and only owzo, who shined through as he casted numerous spectacular games at AEF. Not only will he be casting this match on an entirely new map (which ought to be a challenge), he will also be holding a postmatch discussion with both teams' captains for a broad analysis of the map and its architecture!
Now don't be shy and tune in this evening at 8:30 CET. In the meanwhile you can already test this map out on Killerboy's server: /connect 213.108.29.119:27960 ; password cbmatch

successful thread.
Once you get it to that stage, then you can do a showmatch with big name teams.
Few weeks / months of extensive testing amongst the GTV / admin people to give feedback with everyone on coms including Ders - then given to clans to practice prior to a showmatch (with the guide / walkthrough demos relased) with it used in the ET-Cup tournament a week or so later. One showmatch is all well & good but if you've no follow up it's pointless - you need to give clans a reason to practice it.
Build momentum etc.
i need something to listen to at work next week since the f1 is off :p
guess it should be an airplane ;p
Yup, an airplane going over and dropping a box with a parachute :)
1st stage: awesome. A bit too small maybe (objectives too close to eachother, tunnel maybe too confinding). It looks like supply-copy, but that's allright. I like the high exit for the tunnel, but make the tunnel hallways broader (like supply!).
2nd stage: good mechanics, maybe some work left to do. I'm not a big fan of extensive indoor hallway fights, but it's quite nice to see some cool mechanics outside of that: hiding possibilities for engi-sneak plants, as well as for defending dyna, nice axis spawn with a few coverable exits (like braun and grush). Try to develop the map in such a way that spawnkilling is vitally important to win (like grush). You can do that imo by making the outdoors area slightly bigger (and maybe delete the building for the cp exit, so it becomes a radar-cp-exit kinda thing). And please keep the cool wooden wall (the one where allies can boost their players, or axis can shoot over standing on the high buildings behind it); it's original and very promising.
Overall very good map, given the fact that most new maps were too big (too spacy). But now I feel it can be a very good competition map if you stretch it out a little bit, not too much.
P.S.: I hope the top players will not start too whine too hard about this one, because quite frankly, sometimes I wonder if they even want new maps. The new areas are always strange and unfamiliar, give them however a chance. First time I played supply I didn't like it, now I'm playing it every day...
GJ for the people involved!
this is damn annoying
