After three weeks in which we saw 32 teams battle each other in over 40 matches, the group rankings are final and 16 teams will continue to the playoffs of NationsCup XIV.

The Upper Bracket Round 1 games will be played until this Monday (21.02.2011).

Sweden Sweden Drop-Out
Team Sweden, lead by Slajdan, have decided to drop out of this current NationsCup as they cannot field a suitable lineup. The decision was made collectively by the remaining players.
As a result team Portugal, who came in third in their group, will now proceed to the playoffs.

The playoff tree isn't working really well. You shouldn't be able to get knocked out 2 times by the same team unless it's the loser bracket final or smth.

I'll take the top part as an example:
Por loses vs finland
Aut lost vs france

They play against each other

Winner faces france in the loser bracket, who obviously lost against finland.
If aut won their loser bracket game, they probably won't have a chance to play a different team than the one they met in the winner bracket.

then let's say france wins vs aut (a 2nd time) or por; then the next round (vs winner 18 on game 23). and still as an example, finland loses versus poland (or any of the other 4 possible opponents). So game 25 is france versus finland again ...

You should've made the brackets as: loser 1&2 meet loser 8 (etc invert the whole bracket) ? And kept loser 21 on the same side of the bracket ? (so they can meet their first WB opponent again but not the 2nd ?)
