BFB LB Round 4 results

Tonight we saw the 4th round of the Loser Bracket in the Battle For Berlin. The winners of tonight's games will meet on Sunday to give themselves the chance to advance to the Loser Bracket Final on Monday. Where there are winners there also must be losers and unfortunately we have to say goodbye to two more teams. Below are the full results from tonight's action, including match reports and statements from each of the competing teams.

Goldrush[/u]

Queens started on the Axis side and begun the round well as kot picked himself up 5 quick frags which really set the tone for the early going. It took the Allied side almost 5 minutes before they were able to get near the tank, and thanks to some good medic work from predi, Kevji was able to repair. The Axis continued to play aggressively and with all of their medics pushed up to disQonnect's spawn, they were able to construct the barrier and defend it for another 4 minutes. The aggression was relentless, with NuggaN and razz spending more time in their opponents spawn than their own. disQonnect never looked likely to set a time and the end result was indeed a fullhold.

It was humm3l's turn to defend and he tried his best to lead his team from the front with numerous multi-kill grenades, each of which ended respective Queens attacks. miNd repaired the tank with 5 minutes gone - a decent first stage hold for the Axis, but the defence just about ended there. The tank continued virtually unopposed to the bridge and it destroyed then bank doors. When it did, perfo was waiting and even though his first doc run was thwarted, his second wasn't and he helped his side secure the gold with over 7 minutes remaining on the clock. GG's were called and Queens took the first map.

disQonnect picked adlernest as their map but they will wonder why considering the fact that they defended for a little over 140 seconds. Queens even gave them first blood as razz opened the round with a wonderful double-tk panzer that TosspoT would've been proud of. miNd was in superb form with his rifle, landing 13 kills. humm3l on the other hand, ended with 0. NuggaN took the objective and Queens set a time of 2:23

There wasn't much to say about the following round as Queens defended the first stage quite comfortably. disQonnect managed to plant a first time but Clown easily defused. They managed to defend their second plant and they had 30 seconds for a final attack which was easily snubbed out, ending their run in the Battle For Berlin.

Queens will play K1ck in the 5th round of the Loser Bracket.

We had a good practice game before this official so we were more prepared than last time. Was doing too many tk's but nerds got rolled either way.

Well today we had a bad evening, like all days :) we cant find a warmup at 20cet - that's why we had to play 3on3 on our server against each other. Today it was a clearly 4-0 for queens, was a great game with a lot of mistakes on our side. Anyway thanks to BFB crew for the great tourney. And gl to queens for the upcoming games.

MouseControl begun as the Axis and set up a solid first stage defence, with zMk proving particularly effective as rifle. With 3 minutes gone, k1ck were able to repair the tank. The Axis built the first barrier but it was quickly blown and the tank rumbled along the bridge - it was destroyed a few times by some good grenade spam, and it blew the bank doors with 8.40 left on the clock. Somehow Jalaaa managed to take the gold and run past the barrels and up the slope to the Allied spawn. He continued his run across the bridge and into the truck with just under 5 minutes remaining. Some effective last ditch defending saw MouseControl hold on for a precious few extra minutes as the Estonian's set a time of 12.24.

MouseControl were attacking now and they struggled to break the resistant tank defence of k1ck. Some good fortune allowed MouseControl an opportunity to build the tank but a clutch 2 man rifle from mant denied the chance. The defence continued to dominate and it wasn't until there were only 4 minutes on the clock that MouseControl were able to successfully repair. They got the roll on the Axis and the spawncamp was in full swing as the tank moved into position. With 2 minutes remaining it appeared as if there was a glimmer of hope for the Dutchies but a woeful 2 man teamkill support from filuS ended their chances. 2:0 to k1ck

Supply[/u]

k1ck begun on the Axis side and continued where they left off on goldrush, with textbook organised defending. They continually held their positions for 15+ seconds and pushed out as a team for well-timed self-kills. MouseControl were finding hard to attack into the crossfire & spam. With 7 minutes gone it appeared that they had finally broken the flag defence, as they got a plant downstairs and capped the flag. subbi had other ideas, and he landed a 3 man grenade on the Allies, with his dead body flying into the flag to cap it just as his side spawned. The respawning k1ck players defused the dynamite but their defence only lasted 1 more minute. MouseControl were able to push towards the command post and even build it but from there they never looked likely of setting a time. The Axis fullheld and at 3:0, the game was over. k1ck were highly impressive tonight, particularly in their two defensive rounds, and will surely provide a stern test for Queens on Sunday.

We were pretty confident about goldrush, cause we simply pwn there, but I didn't think that they would pick supply, cause we pwn there too. Anyway, it was a great game. We felt the spirit of walle roaming around the map with us and that made us believe in ourselves. Well played guyz :)

We played a prac against queens before the game. We got rolled on goldrush big-time. Our attack just sucks on almost every map. We couldn't handle the spam of k1ck. The same way at supply, they were spamming and having good teamplay. We sucked and had also some bad luck sometimes. But in the end k1ck were way better than us in the whole game. Thanks for hosting the cup, the coverage was awesome and hope you guys will make something like this again
