Anexis win E-Series Maximus

E-Series Maximus has ended and Anexis eSports have taken top spot pipping TCM in the grand final. Replika managed to take third place after beating Phantasmagoria in a 3rd place game.

Germany Anexis eSports - €1,750
United Kingdom TCM-Gaming - €1,000
Germany Replika - €500
4th. Europe Phantasmagoria - €250

This CoD4 LAN is the third event to come from organisers Adroits who ran an LAN earlier this year which featured Enemy Territory. Big things are on the horizon for the company with no doubt future LAN events being planned, unfortunately Adroits manager Seanza is unavailable to comment just yet, but maybe something to come soon

Original News Item[/b]]For anyone keeping track of the Call of Duty 4 scene you will know that this weekend E-Series Maximus is already underway. The event is the old E-Series event which was originally a 6 team event but this time around has expanded to a 16 team tournament with the help of Adroits.

Adroits as some of you will remember organised the successful SAGE event which had both Enemy Territory and Call of Duty 4. Since then Seanza, who runs Adroits, has organised and run the CoD4 Masters Event back in August as well as the tournament this weekend.

at a guess it is because the risk of there not being enough teams etc. for the event to take place.

I am sure that Sean will be happy to have an ET LAN in the future, but I doubt he will be able to accommodate 6on6 format easily as an ET event will likely have to be done in conjunction with another game to make it worthwhile - all other games re pretty much 5on5 :(

Thought they might be following up after the e-series event we had but maybe it wasn't as much of a success as they had hoped.
I was actually wondering how they would fit 16 teams into the venue but I guess when it's 3 days it's easily manageable, just makes me wonder if they could have done it for ET aswell if we sticked to 5on5.

Would have loved to do another one of those small e-series events but the majority of you that went didn't like the venue or format.

Didn't really have any issues with the venue although I can imagine spending a whole weekend there might suck. As for the format I can imagine how screwed over the guys that came in #1 and #2 in the groupstage may have felt but then again they shouldn't have a problem beating the #4 once more.

Venue was fine for 1day lan - I believe it would be too small for a whole weekend.

Are these COD4 tournaments played on hardcore mode or with normal or some with some custom mode?

They are played on seek and destroy and with a version of promod where players dont die instantly like in hardcore. Think it has been pretty much the same format / mode since CoD1 in the premier competitions.

limited weapons and scopes also cannot take things like stun grenades or the mines - and of course there are no spree bonuses... so no helicopter support :D

So which weapons you are allowed to use? Also do you need to shoot as much as on normal mode to kill?

there are public servers that have the promods on.

basically the pub mode where you need to be level55 or whatever it is has been removed. ak47 / ak74 / mp4 / mp5 are the most common weapons and only iron sights can be used. there are two sniper rifles, the green and the black one with the basic scope - in competition the sway of the sniper scope is minimal to compensate for the power of smg's. you also have set perks of more ammo and bullet penetration from memory.
