Another RTCW 3on3 ODC for you and with this tournament we are going to test run a new map (well, rerun) - After the success of te_Delivery_b1 - which was converted by crumbs for RTCW, we will also be testing running mml_church for this cup while bringing Beach back into the selection at the expense of Ice and Frostbite.
Date: 12th October 2014
Start Time: Earliest will be 18:00 CET, depends on sign ups (Games Streamed from 21:15 CET - UB Final, LB Final, Grand Final)
Minimum Teams: 4
Tournament Structure: Playoff (Single / Double elim, depends on sign ups)
Maplist: Base, te_Delivery_b1 (right click save as), Escape2, Beach, mml_church (right click save as) and Sub.
Servers: EU (antilag = 0)
The tournament is for European players, you must have at least 3 players on your roster and a maximum of 4. Players can only be signed up for one team and all info on who has signed up to the cup so far can be found here: LINK. One extra bit of info as requested by Warwitch himself games on the live stream will have their maps decided by the viewers to add that extra dash of excitement all-round.
The cups later rounds will also be casted by Warwitch over at WarwitchTV and he will be joined by a mix of players and casters over the course of the night. Warwitch also has a Facebook page, show your support and give the man a like! HERE
Why no Ice and Frostbite?
This is the final ODC in the build up for CF 3on3 Championship Season 2. These ODC's are mainly for me to experiment and test new ideas where as the Championship is the real deal (just like it was last season). Ice and Frostbite are two of the maps that will definetly be played in the season and of the other maps there are mixed views - I will get players opinions on what maps they prefer or don't like and mml_church will give another option, it is quite a small map so fairly quick to learn. The map is on all the CF Tournament servers.

Ultimately you wanted us to hurry up because Warwitch was waiting to stream. We got to our matches within 1-2 minutes of finding out who our opponent was. We had to wait over an hour to see who we would play in the losers bracket. I find it kinda bullshit as well that you told Warwitch we were disqualified for taking to long, when that is completely false.
And as always, you put us in the hardest part of the bracket. You said you needed a 6th team for the tournament to make it work, but instead you decided to let you buddies 'paui' play anyway. I can imagine if we were in that position you would say no. Everyone got a bye, except us and vse. Wouldn't it make more sense that paui had to play first round because they were the last to sign up? You lined us up against paui in the second round, who you believe are the strongest team. I find it happening a lot where team elite are placed against the hardest opponents round 1.
I love the work you do merlinator, I enjoy playing in these cups but when you admin them shitty and then blame the players, don't expect as many signups to your next cups.
The top seed was paui because they have placed in every 3on3 tournament final and the next two were 3rd and 4th in the last cup (where elite went straight out with 2 losses) to anyone who has organised a cup before this is pretty much standard - seeds are based on previous performances.
Teams are placed against hard opponents early on if they are low seeds - this is how cups work pretty much. Based on your ideas of placing one of the top2 performing teams in every tournament as a low seed because they were the last to sign up gives the indication that you probably don't fully understand how cups work.
As an admin all I need to do is try and make sure teams start their games on time (some need more babysitting than others), enforce the very basic rules and deal with any hiccups. ODCs are a bit harder all-round and the next one will be on the 21st of December, sign up... don't sign up... that's up to you.
