Carmac on CoD2 & G7

Poland's greatest export, other than potatoes, Carmac, has written up something of a retort to this weeks earlier article on the GGL regarding the competitive future of CoD2. The lovable pole has taken his soap box out and cried status quo is the biggest problem that faces the game, saying big teams dont want it and the tournament organisers dont want it either;

To retain the current situation in gaming means to give the G7 teams stability. All of them have solid Counter-Strike squads that have, more or less, monopolized their respective territories. On top of that, there are few world-class Quake 4 or Warcraft 3 players that are not involved with some of the G7 teams.

I think it's for all consoles ps3/xbox360/Wii but who knows they might suddenly decide to do a pc version after release.

It'll be released for all consoles. There will be a PC version (sometime next year), but it will be done by the team that developed the other two parts.

Good points, but eSports isn't just some community anymore. It's a business. And the first rule is profit maximalisation. You cannot blame them for protecting themselves.

The current teams in the G7 have a lot of flaws in their investments and projects. It takes just one smart team and oppertunity to break their monopoly.

its a elite group containing the top professional clans in the world

4kings, sk-gaming, fayntic etc similiar to the g14 in football.

As far as I know, cod3 will only be console, not the same developers as cod2 and 1, there has been talk about a new pc version and that that name would be cod4.. so far I don't know more.
