Crossfight groups drawn

image: fightFurther to last Monday's newspost, I'm happy to inform you that the groups for the upcoming cup on Wednesday are now ready and live. This draw was done at random with Rotterdam style paper balls. The draw is here.

For the clans involved, please note what group you are in and the clans you will be playing. Bear in mind that to qualify for Crossfight, you have to finish in the top 2 of your particular group. This will ultimately lead to 10 teams progressing, while 10 are eliminated. If you do not see your clan on the list, your application was either too late, or rejected.

zP's postion is now filled. Teams are welcome also to seek backup status, should any other clans experience any problems come Wednesday.

All games will be played on Wednesday (Nov 8), this means you will be playing 3 games in one night. Each team has been assigned a letter: A,B,C or D. This letter tells you in what order you will play your games:

Match 1 - 19.00 CET, Maps - sw_gold + radar
A plays B
C plays D

Match 2 - 20.30 CET, Maps - supplydepot2 + ice
A plays C
B plays D

Match 3 - 22.00 CET, Maps - braundorf + frostbite
A plays D
B plays C

Please have at least one idler from your clan in #crossfight at all times. Good luck to all involved. Just as a reminder, as with other Crossfire events, this is taking place in 6v6.
Remember to hug Belgium taLa for his pro css skillz.

CB Enemy Territory Switches back to 6on6

image: clanbase_white
Today Clanbase will return its supported format of 5v5 back to 6v6.

Over the past weeks, ClanBase took one of its largest risks in order to (arguably) improve the current state of Enemy Territory and see if 5v5 could become the accepted team size within the scene in order to improve the enjoyment of the game itself and increase its chances of getting EuroCup LAN Finals.

With these goals in mind, ClanBase announced in full that all cups and ladders would be converted to 5v5 in order to give it a fair chance to test its feasibility within the scene. It became one of the largest overhauls ever done in any gaming community to fully test the level of acceptance within the community.

Its all an ILlusion

ILlusion have entered the competitive ET fray, no not the second place Unterelite side from 2004, but an all new lineup with some familiar faces! Fresh from his aMenti adventures XyLoS is back, and is joined by some Eurocup faces. However with one of them being banned, the side is already suffering roster problems!

The Lineup:

Italy XyLos
Germany Pumu
Belgium zeto
France tsu
United Kingdom razz

The side has been produced for 5on5 tournaments, which currently only Clanbase are runnning and with that in mind Razz is still banned from Clanbase until January 1st 2007. So, lets assume Eurocup starts before 2007, how will this roster perform with just 4 players? And what is the communities reaction to a banned cheater returning to the scene. I have no doubt this is not the last we've heard from what pumu described as "the regular clanhoppers"

Starting at 22.00 CET we will get hot and live ETTV action on the classic maps Supply and SW Goldrush TE. Make sure you prepared yourself for a hot evening.

Serious Gaming take in EuroCup Champs

image: seriousxfirekv4
It is just over a month since the EuroCup finals in Aarhus, Denmark and since the day Check Six lifted the cup speculation has been abound as to their future, if there was to be one. Today that has come to an end though, with the news that Check Six will be joining up with the top European organisation Serious-Gaming, the home of the Polish Quake 4 prodigy av3k and a successful Warcraft 3 team. They will provide the former Check Six side full support to attend LAN events around the world and after the trouble they had with former organisations the move should come as a relief to the players themselves. Their first event will be the WonderBase LAN in Boras, Sweden where they will take on their old rivals Dignitas as well as a host of new challengers such as Copenhagen-Esports, Logitech.fi and Cubic.

The lineup remains unchanged from the one that took the EuroCup crown except for one addition. Stim, formerly of Logitech.fi and Idle.ee will join the team as Plaekki travels to work in Germany for a few weeks. Stim was a star performer at both the Playz LAN and the original Call of Duty EuroCup X LAN finals so should slot nicely into the all-star Serious lineup. Plaekki was a big performer for the team at the recent EuroCup finals though and it will be interesting to see how the team reacts to his temporary departure. Ever since Stim left Logitech it was rumoured he was playing with the Check Six team and not for the first time, the rumours have been proved correct. He will be playing at WonderBase with the team and will be looking to impress on his first competitive outing.

The following players will be representing Serious.CoD2:

Ireland Liam 'Crow' Crowley
Sweden Martin 'mint' Röjder
Sweden Rickard 'zEm' Intveld
Finland Sami 'Sacrim' Nieminen
Finland Timo 'Stim' Arminen
Finland Otto 'plaekki' Kuisma
