Are the current hitboxes good enough?

This is an age old arguement that has been brought up many a time, just taking a look here
will show how popular a subject it's been but there has been setbacks in the development of more accurate hitboxes by many people including bani himself making such comments as,

you think players complain about not being able to hit anything now? turn on bone hitboxes and the complaints will increase 100,000,000x. because shots between legs or under arms or over the shoulder will no longer be a hit. bone hitboxes reduce the hitbox area like 60%.

Although etpro mod maker zinx has created bone hitboxes that I've personally tested with him and I must say they would make for an interesting change to ET as a competitive game.
