Quake Wars is a great game, and its only gonna get better with upcoming patches.

its physics and shooting style are quite nice. if the vehicles are eliminated completely and the maps made smaller i'd play it heartily, if not i'll go for cod4 (in which the only thing which i REALLY don't like is shooting and killing easily through walls, it kinda makes wallhacks godlike cheats)

sorry for being the whine whore for the last days but I just feel so disappointed by this game.

well, there are some small details which ruin my gaming experience.
The movement itself is OK, as expected it's not much like ET, but still playable. But the aiming really sucks. The mouse feels inaccurate and even at 60fps feels like it is smoothed by the engine, which is my next point. The engine seems not to be as tweakable as the Q3 engine. The console is ugly and unclear. The hitsounds are way too quiet.
The demo map, Valley, seems too open for competive play. It can be changed of course. But aiming on long distances is even worse than on short distance.
And even though the graphics are on a level with Battlefield 2, it takes more hardware to run smoothly. When aiming with the sniper rifle my fps goes down from 60 to 15 which makes the aiming impossible.

I think it can be a good game but those details spoil the fun for me.

What I kinda like is the display of your opponents health. But this could also take away a tactical factor you had to think of in ET.

Beta was complete shit. Now it's pretty ok for playing on publics if none turrets and only transport vehicles are used.

After playing beta1, beta2 and closed betas, now the demo experience has changed my toughts just in the "good" direction - I can (once again) play for 4-5 hours in a row, single map - the game is kinda more addictive to me than for example ET, where the abilities and objectives are not so interesting as it's in ET:QW.

Even the performance of the game seems much increased since the last closed beta and beta2 - now even with 1.6ghz sempron + 1gb DDR + GF6600 128mb i can play almost smoothly @ 30-50fps \o/

I tried it in five minutes only, but then shutted it down because it werent anything like what I expected..
I won't say to much negative things, since I only tried it in 5 minutes.
But I don't think I'll ever open that game again..

what about those that enjoyed the game before the demo?:)

Despite the Valley map I found it to be actually fun again on publics as the shooting as improved alot, or at least it feels it has. Haven't played 6v6 match yet but I'm guessing it's still on the weak side as before but will wait and see.

Dunno havnt tried it yet, my download stopped at 99% and my internet connection crashed - i took that as a sign to stay away from the game ;)

Its much better as in the BETA for me. I am really enjoying it now :)

For me its ok, can hit much better than in BETA 1. The Map Valley is too big, yes, but lol just wait, there will be more maps...

Its easier to control the vehicles too now.

Well the Graphics improved, and i hope that in the next updates they will work on the Graphics even more!
