Which EC group system would you prefer?

1) EuroCup XVI: 4 groups á 4 teams
EuroCup XV : 4 groups á 4 teams
EuroCup XIV: 4 groups á 4 teams
EuroCup XII : 4 groups á 4 teams

2) EuroCup XIII: 4 groups á 5 teams
EuroCup IX : 4 groups á 5 teams

3) EuroCup XI : 2 groups á 8 teams
EuroCup X : 2 groups á 8 teams

I would go for the 2 of 8.. Dont know why sounds better. and then the top 3(?) to the playoffs?

so ull get a bigger groupstage and a shorter playoff with only 5 games maybe a 6th (without loserbracket..)

but they handled it different in those ECs using 2x8 system

1) A2 vs. B3
2) A3 vs. B2

A1 vs. WINNER 1
B1 vs. WINNER 2

winners = grand final

wont work out.. You got 7 week groupstage... EC is scheduled like the big chiefs want.. So it cant have any delay and 7 weeks group... and with 8 teams in playoff will be too much (even without a loserbracket)

So if it will be 2x8 it will be like i said before and like pumu said... top 3 to playoffs and then A2vB3 and A3vB2 and winner of that games is playing the number #1 of the groups and after that the final....

Just because of the timeschedule.

With 2x8 you would get more matches involving the less skilled teams; with 4x4 + double elimination the lesser teams are out sooner and you have more skilled matches, but more repetitive too (such as 3 times the same match, as winner bracket final and double grand final)

Anyways I prefer more teams so I voted 4x5 8D

According to hentai's list there are 28 teams wanting to play EC. About 5 of them are just a joke, 5 others are not really EC material either. So 16 teams will be the best option. 2x8 would be nice to see more interesting matches during the groupstage. But if the schedule is too tight, 4x4 would be okay too.

Four groups of 5 is really annoying because of the schedule. I'd go for either 4x4 or 2x6, personally. Groups of 8 give too many dropouts.

i chose 4 groups cus thats better
i chose 5 teams in a group = more matches to watch:D

4x4 requires good admins, personally prefer 4x5. Any higher and you're going to have to compete with drop outs from teams who knowing they can't make it to the play offs, won't play any more games or fold.

4x4 groups first -> then 3 best goes to next group stage 2x6 -> and then playoffs

Like in Icehockey world cup 8))
