Though as said on esr, the term sport can have such a broad definition… I see no reason to pigeon hole, and can’t imagine why people want gaming to be considered a sport, be happy in yer own niche…
you must be very addicted if you see gaming as a sport, sick minds :|
Chess/darts is as physical as gaming is and they're considered sports. I'd say gaming is a sport too.
edit: competitive eating is considered a sport so wtf not
If the biggest sport tv station shows that kinda weird stuff then I would say gaming is accepted quite well. (i prefer watching ettv over that stuff though xD)
i think not
so ye... 1st vote :)
you have to be highly concentrated, you have to build up your skills by practising, you even sweat sometimes...and so on
Not to compare with normal sport, but some points are almost the same
It's sport if you can tell to a girl. But I doubt you would be proud to tell something like this! So its not a sport hehe
agree:D
"BUT I'M A GAMER. I'M A NERD. NOW GTFO"
Of course Asia is different than Europe and America.
It's sport in asia not in eu, thx !
You sit in a car, turn the steeringwheel and push down on pedals with your feet.
Its not very physical, but no I've never heard anyone say thats no sport.
Sports are like football, tennis and so on ..
But then I realised that "games" such as chess are also considered as a sport, and following this gaming can be considered as a sport
doesn't have to be physical at all (:
as long as you enjoy the thing you do and you don't think about your 'real-life' issues + you gather social contacts/friends whatsoever it's considered as a sport imo.
The thing is, almost only physical sports have been accepted by our sociaty as real sports. few exceptions as chess and stuff.
already for 5 or 10 years more and more people started with playing games(Gameboy/pc/xbox,PS) and i think in the near future it surely will become accepted as a real sport.
ofcourse there will be people against it, but you have that with every sport.
(example: pff, soccer, it's just kicking against a bal and chasing it again, and they earn money with it!)
If you call a person who is behind a pc whole day a 'nolifer' because you think he has no social contacts (while he does) i just think you are narrowminded/thinking inside a box.
but hey, that's just my opinion.

who are that 128 nerds?
or drago's picture with a PF on the headpage of a newspaper instead of christiano ronaldo's gayface xDDDDd
awesome!
i mean its just a game and not a sport..
You can earn money with it but who does..
1/1000
football and icehockey have millions of serious players and only few make it even in national 1st level
Tbh who cares, just call it an e-sport and everyone's happy.
..you really need a fresh air... how could you even make poll like this :/
I used to play basketball at a fairly skilled level, and what i loved about playing basketball is the same as the things i love in playing ET wars against good opponents. Both are really fast and u need great reflexes and hand - eye coordination, both require u the improvise and think really fast while processing alot of information.
I still like playing basketball more, but since i hate cold weather, playing ET is a good substitute for the bad and for the lazy days :)
So not rly a sport but a e-sport. and Yes they should start accepting it.
There are many ppl playing games so why not accept it?
Unless you count chess as a sport to then there is no difference at all and then is ET a sport ;)
i dont think it's addictive in the way drugs or gaming can be
NEVER
Looking at the guys who do darts, airpistols and bowling... they are all fat, there heart rate goes up only coz of exsitement and not because of hard work.
not :D
i think gaming is also a sport xD
