It was decided that an internal consultation should be held between the admins before offering (or, at least, suggesting that we might offer) the feature to users.

I considered that, but I didn't want to be the one to put together the shortlist. This is nice and easy, and it allows us to judge the popularity of football polls, so we can decide whether we want to add more of them or just go for EC/EMS/AEF polls for the next couple of months.

Top goalscorer etc - the whole point is to create discussion which this poll fails epically at :x needs to be controversial or interesting to at least generate some interest...

Maybe a good idea to have a daily poll put up in the morning for the days 'big match' - might get a tad laborious but at least it'd centralise things a little. Predictions and then post match in the one spot. Also a decent reminder of what's worth watching that day!

Friday - South Africa vs Mexico (Springboks vs Sombreros etc)
Saturday - England vs USA
Sunday - Germany vs Australia
Monday - Netherlands vs Denmark
Tuesday - Ivory Coast vs Portugal
Wednesday - Spain vs Switzerland
Thursday - Argentina vs Korea

ofc they might be a tad one sided during the first week! And you'd need to mix up the poll question so people can realise that the poll's actually changed (beyond having not voted).
