Germany Anexis @ EC XXIII
Some would argue that they weren’t interested in the competition. Others would say that they had Jinosta. Either way, 5/6th place wasn’t good enough for a lineup boasting mAus, XyLoS and Matias.

Belgium bF @ E-Series
Given their recent online form at the time, Belgian Fraternity were heavy favourites going into E-Series and it came as a huge shock to the community when news filtered through that they had been knocked out early despite topping the first round with ease.

Europe Spot16 @ SAGE
One thing was for sure before SAGE: Spot16 would either sink or swim. They sank. It was the first LAN appearance of razz and the return of Maltese guru, toxic. On top of this, they had the unpredictable combo of meez and sNoOp - and they were only formed less than a month before the event. They lost to Lazio, causing sNoOp to ragequit all the way home. Nuff’ said.

Europe TAG in general
TAG have a history of epic fails dating back to 2008. In retrospect, 2011 was a year light on the fail for the clique. They sent an all-Dutch team to E-Series and finished level with bF, but disappointed slightly in their 9-12th place finish in BFB, with a lineup that really should’ve reached the next round at least. (They will thank twidi’s interest though, I’m sure!)

Poland tMoe in general
The Poles never could get it sorted and they aired their dirty laundry in public. Their ever changing lineup and individual insistence that they had better things to do than play ET caused the collapse of a team which despite having potential, never got off the ground.

Anonymous WinFaKt @ SAGE
It’s not often that teKoa finishes a LAN in the same position as Kamz, but that’s exactly what happened at SAGE. The Anime Linux Nerd Club were tipped for a podium finish but fell foul to 7ele and his G2P side in the early rounds of the loser bracket. Sorry Vincent!
