Hello everyone from the RTCW community. First of all, I want to thank homiee for organizing the One Day Cup the 22.12, which went pretty good. Also, a thank you to everyone that played the cup and also MerlinatoR for shoutcasting. Surprisingly, there were 7 teams in the Cup and the RTCW activity raised in the following days. I seek to organize either a One Day Cup "homie" style with the aim of 7-8 teams or a prolonged competition. The dates for the possible One Day Cup are to be chosen between 26.1 / 2.2 / 9.2.
The main objective is to raise the activity and keep the activity level in the RTCW OSP scene again in the form of official 6on6 games. To find out what is best for most of the community, I decided to make several polls before. Interested ET Teams and of other RTCW Mods or are also welcome of course! Nevertheless, this poll is aimed mainly towards the RTCW Community only and only active RTCW players, which will probably play in a team shall vote. Polls in other platforms will be done as well https://www.strawpoll.me/19143841to align the results and to evade troll-votes.
The prolonged competition mode will be in core as following: Aiming for 6-8 active teams.
Each team faces each other once, 2 maps, no decider, win 3 points, draw 1 point and loss 0 points. If the game is not arranged 0 points for both.
To have more flexibility, no forced schedule like Team A needs to play vs Team B in Week 1 will be imposed, but rather Team A can play against any team in any 1 or 2-week interval within the maximum period of time. The maximum period of time will result in the number of teams x interval time (1 or 2 weeks). For example, 6 active teams x 2-week interval = 12 weeks. At the end of the maximum period of time, each team should have played once against each of the other competing teams. The team with the most points wins the competition. So, in the end, it is not only about winning but being active and arranging games.
There will also be another further poll to talk about forcing maps or not because I think ice/beach/frostbite are awesome but overplayed at the moment, so it would be cool to have also the dynamite type maps more present like village, assault, base. Furthermore, also to have some other maps like te_ufo / tundra_rush / adlernest / braundorf..
