Pretty nice movie Crumbs.
Well done once again.

Did you use some mod or something? I didn't know RTCW has "volumetric" shadows. Nice quality!
Yes, I used iortcw with a few modifications to make recording easier.

Wow, i didn't even knew there is a iortcw :o
That's pretty nice tbh.

Only some animations look buggy (like grenade explosions, air strike), everything else looks superb!
Parent
I gave up in the end trying to fix them as everything was recorded anyway, not sure if its iortcw or something else, I was porting a few bits from wolfcamql which has q3mme stuff in, so maybe can get some of the FX stuff for next time and have fancy explosions.
Parent
Oh boy, i am feeling nostalgic :D i haven't heard that name "q3mme" for a long time! They were amazing back then (meaning the FX animations)!

The laggy animations remind me of laggy uv-mod for ET, thats why i asked!
Parent
I have been waiting for someone to convert q3mme for ages! would be so nice!

Loved the music, the frags, the quality, colours, the overall iortcw additions!

Only points of critic:
- knockback looks weird in iortcw
- freecams could have been done better, they feel a bit rough
agree on everything, just dunno about knockback I don't play rtcw

i only watched it on the vimeo and the quality was so good, does youtube fuck the bitrate?
@crumbz can you share how did you manage to encode the video in such high quality? :D
Just got this off google, pretty sure its based off recommended settings for youtube. So its trying to be lossless and not really caring about file size.

ffmpeg -i "E:\carrot\final.avi" -c:v libx264 -preset veryfast -profile:v high -crf 18 -coder 1 -pix_fmt yuv420p -movflags +faststart -g 30 -bf 2 "output.mp4"

Both youtube and vimeo re-encode the video. Youtube looks ok to me if you have 4k as the resolution. If you upload anything lower than 1440p to youtube I think it completely kills the quality.
Parent
YouTube uses a different, better codec for 1440p and 4k than for lower resolutions.
