"I guess you replaced the SP file by the MP file? well.. now try to just DELETE the SP file. yeah do it
launch the game.. play it... THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO EFFECT .
actually you can delete all the m16 sp files ( m16_basic/grenadier ) , all the m16 mp files ( m16_acog/gl/mp/reflex/silencer) save the .iwd, start the game and play with the m16 like if you just installed the demo ;D. the only thing I found about those files is : if you delete them all, the game crashes at startup.
Conclusion : Modifying those files just do nothing ;p the recoil/etc info is stored somewhere else (I tried every possible way to check those MP settings too but.. well.. no way)"
Even when it doesn't actually work you can still see the values are different in SP/MP and having less recoil is impossible so it'll mean more recoil if logic is respected.

The values for sp/mp totally differ, however it is perhaps right that some of it is hardcoded. For instance, the fact that using perks can change your accuracy may mean the mp files I am substiting do not show the full range of effects, being mp only
Hah, thanks. Well I opened the first iwd file to see what was in it, and found all their mp configs - although nothing enlightening in them really - same commands pretty much exactly the same as CoD2, but the weapons were interesting
Mind theres still a debate as to whether the recoil is affected by it or not
Very interesting :P
I stand by that!

logical
That was the point of the original GF post.
besides my article asked you to decide if the recoil was different or the same with the mp files
but certainly if you look in the files, they differ in values

This article basically proved that although the mp has a different recoil, its only slightly higher than the sp
