I was asked something similar in cabin crew training but i can't remember the right answer, nearly sure it had something to do with fire, so i'd go with matches.

id choose the matches , set the entire island on fire , u could see the smoke from like 20 miles away, takes 1 random ship to see the smoke and go check it out or radio for someone to come check it out. boom, rescued in a few days np. im not skilled enough to make fire without matches atm.

edit: movies where people get stuck on random islands never think logicaly., just rip every dam tree on the island apart and make a fire stupidly big, then put tones of leaves and grass on it to make it smoke horridly. then u could see the smoke from miles and miles away, surely 1 random boat is gunu be somewhere in like a 20 mile radius of the island at some point within like a week.

you can make a spear with it.

Get the knife, cut the wood for the spear, cut some trees (the ones that are almost as strong as rope) and get some glue from the trees as well and stick the stuff together, or try to keep it tight by using those rope-like leaves.
