QI PUZZLE!!

keep up the spirit of some actual interesting journals. This is based on game theory.

There are 3 of you in love with a women and your in a three way dual (trual) each person has a gun with 1 bullet. 1 man has a 90 % chance of hitting someone. 1 man has a 60 % chance of hitting someone and you have a 10 % chance of hitting someone.

You get the first shot. only 1 shot. who will you fire at???
they will then each have a shot to fire at someone.

Cookie to the answer or someone will just google it and see its an episode of QI , post it and claim they know it which is inevitable but before u do that and if you havent seen QI post an answer.

i would shoot the 60% guy

because probably i wouldnt hit him but the 90% guy would see i tried so he would shoot down the 60% guy and i am saved :)
well the 60% guy would get angry but there is only 60% that he can kill me ^^

In the eyes of the 60% dude, wouldnt he try to kill the 90%?, Why do you assume the 60% guy will shoot back at you? We only have 10%. We aint no threat to them

I'll choose the 60% guy, cause whoever i try to shoot probably won't die, and then i want the one with the shittiest aim to be shootin' back at me.

i wouldnt fire at anyone. i'd wait for them to shoot their bulllets (hopefully at eachother) then id be the only one with a bullet and tell them to fuck off!

if they didnt know their accuracy, that sounds pretty logical. however even if they did, they would ignore you and consider you suicidal and hopefully shoot at each other. Either that or Plekter/Nonix solution.

If you all get 1 shot and you shoot first why the fuck would they shoot at you first? Whatever happens, noone will shoot at you so whatever you do you are safe.

Not true.


If you shoot for example the 60% guy and fucking lucky as you are, you hit.
The 90% guy would obviously shoot you since there isn't anyone else.

ah yeah didnt really consider that third guy has to shoot you if you hit second one since you are fighting over a woman :P

I would shoot at the sky :

- If I miss, I'm not a danger for them anymore so logically the next guy will shoot at the other guy who can kill him. In this case if he kills the guy i'm safe, if he miss the last guy have one bullet to kill 2 guys. Obviously its pointless for him to kill one of us because he will have to share the girl anyway but if he shoots just for fun i have 50% chances he shot at the other...

I think i would do the same as someone above me said:

Just fire it away, then the other 2 guys have to kill the one with the best shot (90->60) or (60->90). It would be stupid to kill you.

But still.. is it allowed to miss on purpose?
Bit unclear for me :<

E: is this QI show some puzzle/quiz show or?

I would pretend I just shot myself, wait for them to kill each other and if there's still someone remaining than I would get up at the time I'd be 100% sure I'll hit the remaining guy : )
