file mirroring with a nas

hey guys,
im currently thinking about a way to keep my 2 systems synced in "realtime" (depending on filesize that needs to be up/downloaded). So if i edit/create/delete a file or folder I want that file/folder DIRECTLY mirrored to my NAS and if something is changed on my NAS I want the changes to be mirrored to my system.
So this is how it physically looks like (not yet):
System1 -(eth/wlan)- NAS/Mediaserver -(eth)- System2
Setting up a NAS with 1TB Raid-1 and the network is no problem at all. Now im just a little bit stuck on the software side.
Dropbox would work perfect if it would not have that shitty storage limit, no way to prevent if from online syncing and no (easy) way to sync files that are not in the dropboxfolder.
Can anyone help? - but no software that works with jobs since i would have to do the job twice (once after bootup and once before shutdown).
And no - connecting the NAS as a network drive won't work since one system is a laptop.
Btw: searching for a win7 and MAC OSX solution :P

(can't find the pic)
im so fokn bored at work
just mount the nas directly as a device into your system. e.g. /media/nas for linux or drive latter X:\ under windows and store everything there directly, w/o mirroring your ass front and back.
this way you can edit the same data from both, or any other system, even while your systems at home are offline.
ever thought this way around?!
whatsoever: bottleneck will be the wlan/lan connection and the write/read speed of the nas controler.
edit: just saw you don't want a network drive... :-((( - rsync??
check this out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unison_(file_synchronizer) bi-directional sync
Yeah, im the only person using my data so the data i take away wont get changed "at home" so there is not that much "pain in the ass" but since im changing the device im using relatively often (jumping from bed, to couch, to my desk, taking my notebook to university etc.etc.) having ALWAYS the same datastock would feel like heaven.
I'll read into rsync.
E: unison looks really nice.
EDIT: svn docs state it is impossible to run a repository on a NFS.
