refreshrate ingame

Good morning,

I was wondering, If I set r_mode "6" and r_displayrefresh "0" will I recieve the full capability of my monitor's refreshrate?

- meaning I have an LCD monitor on 1440x900 with 60hz. but if I set lower resolution values I can get higher refreshrate values.

no. it will set r_displayrefresh to same you have in windows. you wont go higher than 75hz with LCD and im not sure if resolution even makes any difference to your max refresh rate with LCD monitors.
What ^<-- said, but yes It's likely it will make a difference changing resolution. Id try and play with r_mode 4 @ 75hz, 76fps.

If i set in my config these cmds:
r_mode "6"
r_displayrefresh "75"

Will the refreshrate of my monitor ingame will be 75 or still 60? :)
p.s. tryed those settings and it does run alot smoother..

Depends on your monitor. You can play @ 75hz ingame at r_mode 6, with 76fps that will feel smooth. If your monitor can support it. Your monitor should be able to support r_mode 4, 75hz. Which will feel just as smooth I believe.

r_displayrefresh "75"

Does change the refresh rate to 75, ignoring your desktop rate.

yeah my second monitor supports 75Hz at 800*600 but only 60Hz at 1680*1050
Parent
0 = desktop standard
Might as well just set it to 60.
Thank god it's Friday!
Friday comes from the Germanic god Freya. No need to thank the Cristian one for that.

I didn't say what god it was...
Parent
Germanic? it is from nordic mythology, more specific from the two branches Vanadis and Aesir of the Norse mythology.

LCDs uses fixed values, 75hz is not max though it is most common.
I used displayrefresh 85 on my 60hz LCD. With 125 fps it worked fine
those settings will most likely result in very unsmooth gameplay.
Parent
I had my best games ever on those settings.

Also 60hz 85drefresh and 85fps was very unsmooth but it was really easy to aim
Parent
:D If your monitor's doing 60hz, it doesn't matter what value you have in ingame-cvar.
Parent
ET handles the displayrefreshes differently so 85 gives you a different feeling than 60 even though you have 60hz all the time.

I use displayrefresh 75 on my 60hz LCD. With 76 fps it worked fine
