My mouse..

Is fucked? Keep freezing in and out of game, cpu load shoots up (razerhid.exe), mouse moves again but sens changes. Whole time mouse light stays on, so its obviously not fully disconnecting.

My mouse experts tell me its a cable problem. How easy is that to fix?

Any advice?

If not, what mouse should I be getting, deathadder?

e: I currently have a diamondback.

i had this problem for last 2weeks just ordered a new diamondback yesterday i took it apart but fuck knows what i was meant to do.

I'd just order a new one!

Anyway theres a tutorial on how to fix the cable problem here on CF... might be bit different tough because its on mx518.

btw does the windows recognize the mouse disconnections [with sounds etc] or does it just freeze without notice or anything?

Had my mouse for a few years (~5). And no, windows doesn't seem to detect its disconnecting, infact if it wasn't for the fact that the mouse doesn't move there is nothing to suggest it is disconnecting. I'm wondering if its a driver issue...

Well before you open shit up i suggest you update the firmware and driver.
If that doesnt work try removing the driver and just plug&play.

Look up the problem in razers FAQs and google you might find more info.

p.s. theres no better mouse the mx518 ;]

United KingdomShuki will sort you out with a mouse bro. I had problems with my deathadder yesterday, mouse 4 and 5 not working in game. I turned off UAC and rebooted but yeah you should just check for warranty instead of messin' with cables :D

It's a broken cable. There is no other explanation for the DPI change too. If you have another mouse lying around, take it apart and take the 4 pin cable out of that, the Diamondback will have the same. However I understand you will need to put insurlation tape at the front of it to make sure that the cable doesn't wear down again.

However you WILL need new glides for this. Mztik (ex-diamondback user) tried the MX518 for a while after his broke, however got an IME3 last time i spoke to him and he was in love with it and said that it was lovely. Maybe that is the place to look for a new mouse? Not as expensive either!

Personally, i'd try doing this. The black path shows where the cable route to the curcuit board, hope this is useful for you!

Looks like they've sold out. I'll wait till thursday when I'm home and try and sort my mouse out then, and if not purchase a new one; Got an image to adhere to, so can't let people catch me repairing a mouse (:D?).

It's just Teflon, there is no way the Teflon of the Hyperglides is that much ahead. I tried both and now I have both in one package together, I even used Hyperglides and Coreglides at the same time and none of them died earlier than the other.
I'am using a MWO tho, no clue if its the same for other mice.

Corepad just cut teflon into the shape of the mousefeet and don't actually curve the glide to prevent it scratching the mousemat.

Basically you are paying for something you could easily do yourself with some industrail teflon and a pen-knife and paying 10 times what it costs to produce. The quality control of them are shit, and you only get two fucking sets.
