hmm ive never seen it before, doubt if its possible, as u have to turn on the entire laptop to turn on the screen
that wouldnt be a problem
Parent
hmm just try to connect pc + laptop with an dvi cable then.. but i dont think it will work.. how do u tell your laptop to not use the display for the laptop but for some other device plkugged into the laptop? :S

no idea, maybe some dual monitor display tweakings?
Parent
yea look through the nvidia or ATi settings should duel display mode or something
Parent
would this be on the laptop or on the desktop? i would assume laptop but there may be an override setting or something for the desktop? :|

Laptop, but come to think of it, I think that would just be using the laptop to turn on the other screen

What the internet has done to this world... you have to summarise a 1,2 line journal to half a line in order to be read... /wrists
it's not. The controllers for laptop displays are not standardized, so pretty much every manufacturer uses it's own controller. Just not possible with a reasonable amount of work, money and skill.
Why did you put your PC in the garage? Also why would you ever use a laptop screen in preference to anything else, a decent screen costs next to nothing anyway.
how about you just connect them via ethernet and start a telnet/ssh session from the laptop connecting to your computer? :P
(even though i doubt that this leads to reasonable performance)
