Windows 7 is annoying me :(

problems :


1 : each time a round ends in enemy territory my game crashes
2 : I have 50 - 100 fps in et while I have 400+ in cod4

Yes, and they are both on my SSD, I had the same problem on my laptop with vista although I never got around to fix it ( my laptop runs cod4 @ highest graphics without a problem, but when I load et it gives me around 20 fps there )

why dont you try to run the old ET installation (only as admin ofc)?
i do that and it works.
at least like this you can make sure that it isnt ETs fault.
so you can keep on eliminating possibilities.

thought about that as well but that would suck since the threaded optimization option isn't to be found anywhere in my catalyst center

i had this fps problems too where i was on SL bootcamp i needed to use a pc with windows7 and i just installed all the new drivers out there and then you need to install Tuneup and activate the Turbo modus.. after this i had no lags anymore i hope it'll help you :)

It works, my fps in both et/cod are stable now, didn't finish a round yet though


although now I have another very annoying bug : the floor are entirely black ( everywhere )

use the catalyst 10.4 driver. the 10.5 is bugged for me as well

first thing i did was disable UAC completely

now everything works

Kevin did you install lastest ati drivers?
They cause problems.

Try these http://downloads.guru3d.com/ATI-Catalyst-10.3-Windows-7-|-Vista-%2864-bit%29_d2494.html or if you got 32bit http://downloads.guru3d.com/ATI-Catalyst-10.3-Windows-7-|-Vista-%2832-bit%29_d2495.html

Those work fine with me.
Remember to uninstall your current drivers first.
