that's what football seems to be all about, making sure you don't lose and more importantly that your opponent doesen't score :)
keep it interesting for the spectators, right?
have had a good laugh multiple times already watching these WC headlines stating "Team A managed to shut down Team B, what a great 0-0 score!" "Amazing 1-0 victory for Team C over Team D" and so on. the best line I read so far was on a newspost about the opening game stating that South Africa even had a chance to score another goal in the second half like it was a fucking miracle. I mean can you believe that, they almost scored two goals in the game?
The masses like goals and hockey scores.
More indepth football fans understand the game actually, they pay attention to the play, flow of the game, tactics, passing, etc.
Obviously, what masses like, that thing brings money. That's the way it goes with everything in this world.
I'll fairly admit that I'm part of the mass who likes to actually see some action, lots of chances and goals scored, because that is just so much more enjoyable to see. that's the reason why I for example haven't watched a single game in the current WC and to be honest I only keep on posting these comments, because I'm irritated by the fact that such a boring sport to watch can be so popular
don't know if you're one of those guys then who can even after 0-0 game say that it was a fucking great game because both teams played it wise and safe sticking to their tactics and didn't allow their opponent to score a single goal or something like that. I just can't see it in the same way
I understand. I guess it's just about tastes and gentlemen dont speak of tastes :)
Personally, I prefer more tactical, systematic approach to the game (doesnt mean - defending. Just take a look at Barcelona's and Spain's tiki-taka play) and I can find a joy in watching some tight football with rational passing that might turn out to be goalless.
Altough I'd like to make a distinction between a game where 'Team A manages to shut down Team B' and a 'boring game indeed'.
0-0 doesnt necessarily mean the game is boring, although it may mean that :)
Edit: but of course I love goals too, just like a human being^^ And I was displeased last World Cup for being the most defensive tournament I ever saw.
Now, the games seem more interesting to me, but still, the highest number of goals in one match so far is 2...
you think you're cool, known and respected, just because you are some kind of admin on ESL. Contrary to that narcissistic believe, nobody likes you, you're a fucking clown, you aren't far as respected or known as Killerboy, and eventhough some people suck up to you because you've got some nerdpowers, you're just some pathetic talentless nerd who get his dick hard from nerdcontrolling other nerds on a nerdsite, though nobody gives a fuck about you or your retarded opinions.
I sure am when I'm getting so much flame from someone I don't even know.
Ah, but you sure made my day: "Respected and Known as Killerboy". :D
Respected and known by some players because of his "wise decisions". I can totally understand that. When I grow up, I wish to be exactly like him. He's my idol, yours too, right?
Yes, I did a mistake. I didn't make an eloquent reply regarding what I think about delivery. I think I'm probably one of the few players that believe Delivery is a good map. But of course, posting my good thoughts about Delivery in a journal where everyone was just "I hate delivery, delivery is shit etc", was a bad choice.
