Not in our country, our Government campaigns for people to stop smoking, yet cigarettes are where the get the majority of the tax income from. Double standards.
So? Is that being hypocrite? The government tries to stop people from smoking by taxing it, and with those taxes they can use that money for better purposes. Seems VERY logical to me.
I don't know, I can't think of any cons for starters, so you're obviously right. When I was in London and a pack of smokes cost around € 7 ( compared to 4.50 here, Marlboro ) I sure as hell smoked a lot less than compared to when I am in Belgium. On the other hand, real addicts ( which I don't think I am .. yet ) won't smoke less because it costs more, they will find other expenses to cut into.

everything above 10 seems to be an addiction, although it's not really the quantity, but rather the regularity.
I just quit a little over a week ago, feeling allot better already. This is the first time I didn't have any withdrawel symptoms at all!!! Dunno why but I didn't even have any cravings, every once in a while it'll pop up in my mind that it's time to smoke, like after a meal, or playing ET or sth but it's no problem not too and the thought doesn't come back and haunt me every few minutes. Think I'm actually gonna make it this time, smoking sucks, everyone that's been doing it long enough knows that even if they won't admit it :>

I quited it again,did some at party after 6 months of break but i thought its better stay away from it, since its expensive and not the best habbit :)

Smoking is an disgusting and awfull addict. I prefer drink few coffees during day, than smoke. Atleast i am not devastating someone elses health like smokers with their passive smoking shit :)
Well I guess everyone who smokes started it because of social pressure / wanting to lift their self-esteem... They may not have anymore such motives but they can't just stop smoking because it's so addicting. I can understand that, I'm even addicted to light-sodas. :D

I can relate to that, sometimes when things get too much ( eg : exams, some girl/mate fucking me up ) a cigarette helps me relax. Though you should know the relaxing idea behind a cigarette is all placebo :P
What? You might be correct for most of the 14/15/16 year old teenager since the social pressure is insane at that age, but for example : I started smoking to see what it was like, never stopped since.
