TOTALLY RUBBISH MATCH
(but so was ENG-ALG yesterday and 90% of the other games)
I'm going for brazil and argentina in final (or maybe germany).
Holland was dreadful. Barely a shot on goal in the first 70min.
The fact is it was an absolute awful match and NL had like 1 shot in 70min. If that satisfies you, fair enough but not everyone has such a low standards.
I'm really wondering whereon do you base your meaning as there were only understatements by ther German team after the win vs. Australia.

Dutch are known for there attacking football.
That kind of football is now still being played by Barca for example.
Our mentality is just different here. We want to win with good football.
Germany won most titles, not with good football. Not with good attacking football. Just working really hard as team for one thing, the result. We won like that today. The german's played good game vs the aussies with the type of play you would not expect from Germany, but more from us. Just stating the fact, not the team that is playing the best attacking football will win. Just look at champions league, you can't allways win with great football. We are now able to win bad games, and i am happy with that. If we would have played like that 2 years ago against Italy and France we would get owned, but not today.
So germany is playing like the dutch, and we are playing like the germans. So if you talk about history. We have more chance to win it.
I still hope it won't happen, else I will need to suicide. Hopefully we are able to combine good looking football and with the typical german qualities. Our first decider is coming next wednesday.
When robben is back, it will make things alot easier, also for the other players. Since there are allways 2 players defending Robben. And if we need to counter or we need to force something. Elia - Sneijder - Robben ftw.
The only chance I see to defend them is standing very deep and tight to don't give them the space to use their speed skills. And even if u are able to do it players like them are still able to overbear the defence by a solo attempt.
But ur defense seems to be vulnerable to fast played counter attacks. Players like van Bommel, Mathijsen, Heitinga and van Bronckhorst are kinda old and aren't that speedy.
Well, i'm curious about how u will perform on the playoffs. Nothing personal, but hopefully you will fail miserably as so often in past. :P
Van Bronckhorst is slow and old after this he is going to quit, but we dont have anything better and he is experienced. De Jong will help him out if needed. These matches our defence was solid, but yes we dont know what will happen against argentina or brazil or spain. Since we never played them last couple of years. But teams wont attack fully against us if we have robben and elia playing. Because that would be exactly what we want. When we played vs ITA and France in 2008. We showed how counter football needs to be played. Against big teams we are not the ones who allways need to make the game, unlike the games against these smaller countries.
But yes i am curious aswell. Atleast Germany and us got a real team unlike many other big countries. Germany doesnt have such a good defense either. Our defenders except mathijsen can also play all good football. Heitinga can even play defensive midfielder. Also our goalkeeper is a good footballer, thats typical for dutch goalkeepers and defenders. We want complete defenders and goalkeepers.
I don't think Brasil (since Dunga is the coach) or Germany would be so stupid to allow u to play counter football. They would try to turn the tables. Standing deep and trying to counter. It will be easier for you against teams like Spain and Argentina.
van bommel and de jong are for the balance in our team. And to help our defenders. We can also play for example with van bommel and van der vaart/de zeeuw on that position. And than play with elia/kuy / sneijder / robben. It will make countering more easy, but it will also make the team less strong in defending. But than we are even able to put more pressure. We played some matches like that before, but our coach wants to play with same people everytime. We need such guys like van bommel and de jong against big countries. But if we need to force something, we can play like that.
But yes i agree, spain and argentina would suit us more.
I just hope none of our defenders get injured. Because the defenders on our bench are just lol.
