I can't believe you think it was accident they watched it after in slow-mo the rule states if you move your arm in anyway and it blocks the ball whilst hitting you it's a hand ball

The question isn't whether his hand/arm touched the ball or not. The question is whether it was on purpose. I doubt that.

Context? You might read the football rules again. Btw, there was a clear foul before the shoot of mensah, so the ref should have given a penalty and no red card anyway.

It doesn't matter if it was on purpose or not, he touched the ball with the hand and prevented a goal with that -> Red card + penalty

If a team is fouled and retains possession, no foul should be signaled. That's one of the major rules in football, maybe you should follow your own advice.

Oh, come on. I didn't say the ref did anything against the rules, in case of he thought it was deliberately. It would have been just the best possiblity to deal the situation with sensitivity as the red card was too harsh.

Still a handball must be deliberately to get punished.

It does matter and you know it. If Australia won Germany wouldn't have as much pressure on them because they would be able to draw against Ghana.

well, i doubt many people really expected australia to win anyways. we all knew that we will most likely have to win vs ghana.. which should be doable.
additionaly mens0 is right with the rules about "deliberately". whether it was deliberately or not is up for interpretation, that's why i'm not rly complaining about the ref's decision in this case.

That header would've gone in, while Vidic's handball affected nothing because Khedira was too far from the ball. Not every handball is penalized with a red card.
