All knowing crossies!

Hello and good morning crossfire!

I've ordered pants from America "Karmaloop" and they came to Finland like they should. In Finland we have crazy taxes that we have to pay to our "lovely" (noot) goverment. So totally for 140$ pants I had to pay 48$ shipping and now I need to pay 50€ to my goverment or else I will not get my pants.

So where did 50€ came from? 15€ for customs service... 31.83€ came from custom taxes and 3.38€ came from tax services

So question is. Is it possible that if I have friend lets say... in Estonia and I order package from America to Estonia to my friends address. It will arrive to Estonia and I will pay taxes to Estonia which are... more or less lower then Finnish. So after the package will arive there the friend will send it to me.

So again question is. Is it cheaper to do that or or is it even possible?

(Dont know what is Estonias taxes. but I took the country as an example)

In Finland we have tax about 22%

Not as mad you as obviously.
Parent
that's quite a tall order, considering that only about 65% of the population are estonians :dd
Parent
according to zeh interwebs 15% of the people in estonia are immigrants/people living there

Well true need to be trustie friend. In future I would really want to do this way even if it saves me only 5€ because this shit makes me sooooo angry! Its like they just sit there and think... what services can we invent to take money from people... oh I know tax service and custom service... waat?

And there is no way stoping it becase they dont have competition and they can make price tag what ever they like :(
We have insane VAT in Denmark as well. I am pretty sure that you do not have to pay VAT or taxes if you buy something from another EU country, as long as it is within a certain limit. I think it also depends on what type of goods you are buying, at least in DK.
In Denmark you also do not have to pay VAT or any other taxes on presents/gifts, being sent from non-EU contries.
Yea we dont need to pay VAT if product is bought from EU country.

Yes it is possible. Im Estonian living in Finland and i do it all the time.. I dont pay any taxes.
Yes you can do that. Too bad customs caught your package, Karmaloop uses DHL for shipping so usually it passes customs too fast for them to even check the goods so I guess you were just unlucky or Finnish customs employs a lot of people :D
thats what you get when living in a shitcountry
Imperialist world is imperialist. Same here in Turkey too. The few people managing the world is enslaving us. Empty your pockets.

Welcome to globalization!
