When buying a MacBook

EDIT: *They see me rolling, they hatin*

Should I get:

a) MacBook Pro 13" 2,53GHz, 2009 model 1140e
b) MacBook Pro 13" 2,4GHz, 2010 model 1150e
c) MacBook Pro 17" 2,53GHz, 2010 model 2120e
d) MacBook Air 1400e

I mean a and b options costs the same, but does it matter if I buy a laptop which is already 1 year old, but faster? Dunno about paying 1k more for 17 inch screen tho.

Im thinking about the resell value here when making my mind up with a) and b).
MB Air is totally overpriced btw.

I would love to play SC2 and D3 with mac later on.

you should get an alienware laptop instead
Value stays better with mb's when I want to sell it next year or so.

Back in the days, y.

kk was just wondering, found some nice demos of yours from the "old days":P
Parent
Can you say the year the demos were from?
Parent
2004/2005, not sure if they were from winter or summer.. was on Radar and Oasis
Parent
you still got those demos somewhere?
Parent
def not the air, and sicne you want to play games on it, get the 17".

13" is really small!
I can play games like sc and d3 with HD projector too but thats a good point!
Parent
Yeh it's doable sure, but it's just not as good as a 15+
Parent
You don't want to buy an 13-inch laptop for 1150€ used for work, studies and pleasure, trust me :P If you don't want to spend 2k and want to have a decent laptop, then get Lenovo's IdeaPad Y series or IBM's T series.
I also think of it as an investment.
You can almost get your money back even after 2 years and that my friend is a fact.
Parent
option c) is the best if you have a lot of money enough :)

the mbp 13 is totally overpriced (shitty graphic, slow cpu), you can also just get the normal MB (same performance, 200e cheaper).
the mbp 17 is cool, but gets relatively hot.
mba is just shit.
(everyone saying "gtfo with apple", seriously: you have no clue)

I would buy the 15" mbp suggested by Arise with non-glare HD display.
Parent
Ok. I guess I will. :)
Parent
better get a 15", 17" is just too big and get the 2010 model with some more specs so it comes up to about 2200e.. best choice imo.. and macs run modern games pretty easily.. seen a youtube vid where some guy is playin cod4 on max specs with 30 fps average(with mac pro 2009 model).
gtfo with apple
also u could get the 15" ones
Apple MacBook Pro 15"
Core i7 2.66GHz
4GB
500GB
GeForce GT 330M 512MB

Works fine ;-)
15" would be nice too... I think Iv made up my mind. How much was it?
Parent
If you think about reselling later on... The sensible choice would be to go for the 2010 model as it is younger and therefore will be younger when you resell it.

Any reason not to go with 15"? Cause you only mention 13 and 17.
Buy Apple, pay 500euros for computer and other 500 for the logo.
Grow a pair and get a real laptop

Apple products = overrated shit
obvious troll is not so obvious
number 1 => A
The hardest thing about buying a mac is telling your parents you're gay.
I have the 17" 2010 screen model and i am not kidding its amazing, i also have an XPS 16 with a higher spec cpu (core i7) etc however always choose to work on the mac at home, its cooler (temperature wise) and i just find it so nice to work on.
What kind of work do u do on the mac?
Parent
hmm all sorts but typically i have to VPN and then remote desktop into my work servers, but even for web browsing, chatting, movie watching, word creation etc its great

currently using a beta of office 2010 as i hate mac mail and that has outlook but generally love the laptop
