With the WC having passed now and a whole lot of crucial referee mistakes i still dont get why the FIFA is against a total referee system.
I ve been thinking about that already for months and i cant find a reason why it would harm soccer, if the referee systems was similar to the one in american football...
I doubt that there will be any negative effects.
- It would be impossible to score a goal when it was offsite
- If the ball is just slightly across the line, and it is hard to see for the referee, it still would be a goal (hi england)
- Fouls would be analyzed better and the judgment would be fair (no yellow cards for De jong)
- Fake Fouls wouldnt happen anymore since they would be revealed and judged with at least a yellow card
- there wouldnt be any revenge emotions in situations like the one of iniesta yesterday (if his fould would have been judged, and it was a really hard foul, he would certainly not knocked down the dutch player afterwards)
i could keep on getting reasons but i want to know what reasons justify remaining as it is atm...

I'm not an expert about american football, but just look at the game... they have more pauses and all actions are rather short while in football you have the best game when the ball is running without any breaks.
if u analyze every damn foul or situation it's gonna destroy the game. I think goal cameras should be installed though.
but having 3 referees judging about every possible offside situation won't help football either.
maybe there should be a head referee with a monitor judging main situations only (like the de jong foul or if the ball was behind the line or not) - question is where to draw the line though. and players would cry for re-considering every situation etc....
So would of been a red?
