Worst ET rule decision(s) ever?

This is an opinion poll.

My vote goes to the removal of Reiskahyppy (Supply main jump). Although not as significantly destructive as 6on6->5on5 or removal of certain weapons, this minor decision simply has absolutely no arguments in favour of it, making it infinitely pointless. The situation where the jump is performed is even one of the hardest defences to break through, the depot yard defence.

Double prone nerf (pronedelay WITH max spread. Just one would've sufficed)
Edit: Explosive hitsounds mentioned by some neat guy. Now you just have to press +stats to see if you're doing any damage if you want to (r)nadescan, hearing the *BLUP* is so much more enjoyable. Also, remember playing flamer in the old days? ;)

Notice how all these changes have one thing in common: they make ET less ET-ish and that's why I have nothing good to say about them.

why? checking the stats to see how many people you hit is gay, it was a cool feature, according the the bass of the "nade sound" you would know how damaged the opponent is, or how many you possibly hit, its annoying since the faggots usually just go hide and pack up, or else you stay thinking, did i remove 10 damage from him or 120? then you go to frag him and find out you prolly removed 10 damage only :D

I LOVED those long oasis wars where you could get double airstrikes and flac jackets and shit!
5on5 would feel great if the spawntimes wouldn't majorly fuck it up.

That jump is unreal, pathetic and breaks defense in a way it shouldn't. Lots of fun a panzer jumping that wall main.

So sorry to tell you but for me the decission is perfect and makes supply better.
Main has a blown gate.. thats the way to go. You can already jump east and west and thats more than enough.
You really need much more to make supply better :)

Yes, really easy, just tell your mates to hold their positions when they have to and you make a fullhold without any doubt.

Definitely easy to defend on any level above low+, even in mixeds as it's so intuitive for most people due to experience.

yes vs lower teams... but thats not the map's fault. Against decent teams is not that easy to make fullholds.

I've got to say that I haven't seen that much fullholds in a fair fight on supply.

Sure against weaker teams anyone could fullhold.

They do happen, obviously, just sayng, it's hardly all the time. Maybe 7/10 or so... But I think that higher teams would easier fullhold there due to a more deadly aim + hardly any tries for innovative gameplay

Personally I hate it when any of those jumps are used, but I don't want them disabled either, it's part of the game.

They might as well increase spawnshield to 20 seconds to counter spawnkill/camp :D

how long have you been playing? sd is so fucking easy to defend. and forcing people to go through the gates will make it 5283752835237528357times easier for the defending teams (2mines on west + 2mines on east + main gate artillery + rifle = GG)

the teams are Keskus Rikos Poliisi and Fintastic 5, but no problem. once you get more skilled you will start to interest in good teams, since you start playing versus them or some ppl of them.

i remember the server i played before (1years and 4 months maybe?) and i used to play covie. but we had weapons emported from another game, sort fg42 but thousand times cooler and better! and outfits were cool aswell :p easter nades were some egs and nades were covered by a rabbit :D kinda cool ^^

Apart from the fact that the west position isn't the most effective for a rifle, it won't be able to spam rnades + mines all over the place. So I don't think that your West defence will have mines all the time + no medics there meaning that it's a pretty weak spot.

if the call comes that e.g. all are coming west we move our defense (otherwise no one would be able to hold SD down) to west (medic from spawn coming to help the rifle, the freelancing fop/medic who made the call will backrape or just shoot too).
and west as rifle is a pretty good position (or say comfortable) - at least talking from my point of view, since main can be kept clean (with rnades) or spamed very easy and always having at least one mine at west + shooting rifles isnt that hard (considering myself a very defensive rifle player).
but obviously there is no "perfect" down tactic, as already stated by drago, it just fits our team-/gameplay the most and the results are pretty satisfying.

I'm a great fan of ET, not an oldschool nostalgic. I simply think all things that distinguish ET from CS&COD&generic FPS's are for the best, since this is along with Q3 is my favourite shooter by far.

imo i like the rules for prone. Having prone delay makes people think prone is useless -> no one uses it -> you prone & suprise & instant win

and the max spread makes prone harder to use (e.g. u need enough time between prone and the apperance of the enemy).

but i want arty,nade & mine hitsounds back :( Was such an lovely sound when the arty hits 3 or 4 people at once <3
Only people who abused the prone button to be good still whine about it. Prone delay is one of the best things ever and it showed how Mortal couldn't win anything without it :D

I miss nade and arty hitsounds. xp level ups were fun but I always hated the amount of arty and strike spam after fops had lvlups. Nothing is more fun though that go panzer on axis and spawnkill allies everyspawn :)
