When interviewed by Aleksander Osang of German publication Der Spiegel, Becker is reported to have explained that Germany's new, flamboyant style was related to their homosexuality, and that being gay made them too delicate to beat Spain in the semifinal.

In the aftermath of the interview, Osang wrote, "All sports journalists seemed to already know the alleged homosexual conspiracies enveloping Löw's team. The rumours accompanied our team to South Africa and evidently belong to the team."

The DFB (German FA) refused to comment, while coach Joachim Loew explained that he "would not stoop so low" to respond..

There are a lot rumors about Arne Friedrichs and Phillip Lahm being gay (not with each other tho) and that their girlfriends (or in Lahm's case wifes [they are married since yesterday]) are paid by their clubs...

Even if they would be gay, why bothering? It doesnt affect their football and why shall we have the right to judge, which sexuallity is the "true" on?
