i-to-i Volunteer Projects

Just wondering if anyone has ever done/heard of this before? I'm planning on doing it next summer in maybe Peru or Cambodia.

Basically what it is,

An organisation arranges for you to travel to your desired place and work with charity's there to help oprhans, build houses, or conserve the wild life or whatever. It's pretty expensive but I think it's one of those once in a life time experiences.

You can travel to Africa and work in a Lion Sanctuary to, my cousin did it last summer and she said it was amazing she was allowed walk a cheetah on a lead.

Whats everyone think?

Do it. As you said:
Quote by ETNiESit's one of those once in a life time experiences.
Could have timed it better and offered your services in South Africa whilst the World Cup was on.
If you're interested in such a thing you should go for it. No fear!

edit: Holy shit that's pricey.
yea it's very pricey, especially considering you have to pay for expensive flights on top of that

It would be an amaxing life experience all right, but is there not places / charaties that arrange trips like this for free?
not really, you still have to pay for a lot of it otherwise it would cost them money to send you there, and the good thing about the i-to-i thing is it's kind of a holiday too
