indeed lol, they already shut down 3 cybergamaes servers and their servers are not even streaming, and i heard from an ex-PBBans admin that EB will shut down support for ET soon.
punkbuster was quite useless anyway for the last year, only the old private and public hacks are detected.
But I still don't get the PB lags, everybody is whining about, I never noticed anything on my 2004 PC (well only when CB forced the big pbss but that got changed aswell)
and how is the username and password protection? if i use the same password as CF, can cf admins who hate or abuse it? or can people hack the database and publish the login informations?
afaik CF passwords are stored into the database with an md5+smth else hash protected so it doesn't get hacked, also i seriously doubt CF admins would do that, it's not in their interest to use "Rhand account" or anyone elses, CF&SLAC != netCoders database :)

The hardest password should be your e-mail password.
The only way ppl can get your passwords are if you run a .exe (which is a keylogger/trojan), enter your username & password on a fake website or some images which will ask you to enter your username & password.
Aslong as you never do the above stuff, you're safe. There will be an appeal system just in case an account gets "hacked" (i.e the user gets key logged or smth) and the guy cheats on his account, there are many ways to see who is the victim and who cheated on it.

there are only 2 commands at the moment, sl_players (it will show you your SLAC GUID ID) and sl_status will tell you if SLAC is working or not. There will be more cvars soon when its out of the beta and the server side is available
yea W7, it seems to work fine if i click on ET before it even loads (after you click start game, you click on the ET window that loads commands then on the colored window just before the cinematics or the menu, seems to work
yep start SLAC and use the button in SLAC to launch ET, only then it'll work.
you can also set ur serverbrowser to start SLAC.exe instead of ET.exe and if you have set autologin @ slac then it'll just launch ET directly (but only use this if you only play on non-PB servers)
why only use the auto login if i only play non pb servers? i can also just not click slac and open et throught the game folder or XFIRE, then it won't load SLAC, no?
I meant only use the option to let Xfire point to SLAC.exe instead of ET.exe, you can use auto login if you like it.
And you need to open ET from the SLAC app otherwise it won't work (atleast from howfar I know, better ask killerboy aka sweedy to be sure, he knows more as me about SLAC)
He's under contract with Speedlink, and think if he breaks it he's in big problems. And he'll like the money SL gives him, it'll be more as selling a few hacks.
I don't know, but I think speed-link offered him enough to don't start coding cheats again. They are not stupid and SL is more then just a multigaming.
he wouldn't be putting so much effort in it if he didn't get anything in return would he? because as a person he doesn't give a fuck about a cheat free ET.
his profit could be: the only one who can do a undetected hax for ET -- i think a lot of people will buy it not to lose their face -- they low without hax
