this statement has nothing to do with my apply doesn't it? it's simply my opinion, and i'm sure the opinion of some others as well.

Caen ain't good map for competetive gaming. Too easy to defend in my opinion. But this is just my point of view.

I played Caen in prac versus Speedlink, and it was great fun :P

But I think with proper tactics the last part is very easy to defend as you spawn so close to the objective.

Wont know how to fix it but just my opinion ;)
maybe a blowable door @ the back of the obj-house would fix that!?

for example, a contructable fence(like braundorf side) which can be rebuild and satcheled.

And I think an Axis spawnpoint on the other side of the water(near the side tunnel/ally) so that you can attack form both sides easier.

In our official baserace v 242 it kinda showed how easy it was to defend. We set a fast time but only because they probably made tactics 1 minute before and didn't think it through. Your idea of moving axis closer after gate is blown would help, it might allow the "push, get 1 or 2 full, kill and do objective second time round, standard attack thing". Last stage a closer spawn might help too, maybe 2: 1 in the house (where health & ammo used to be), 1 at the start of that long corridor on the right. Hope that made sense. :)

definitely a good decision to introduce new maps, breaks the routine of playing the same maps over and over again.
our match got forfeited
New maps are ok if they are being balanced till they are worth something. And ofc, they shouldn't be removed after one cup, otherwise, no one will practice them and no one will be able to give proper feedback.
I enjoy this map much more than bremen or adler, even if there is a double fullhold.
Also i think in the first stage if you repair the tank. You should have the flag aswell, and make sure the Allies can't retake it again anymore.

Also you can increase moverscale from tank, not that much but a tiny bit would be nice.

About spawnpoint, i would take it a notch back let the axis spawn outside at the truck infront of the spawn. Than the Axis also have overview if allies are pushing out.
the map is 10 times better than bremen (not comparing it to adler because adler is a different type of map ) +1

the flag idea is nice although it's not easy at all to get the flag back and you would need to destroy the cp as well for the axis to spawn all the way back so the flag should stay as it is imo

the tank speed is fine as it is, no change necessary

i like the spawn @truck idea :)

those are basically all the changes that are necessary at this point

It's more if you are unable to rush for flag than its maybe possible to rush for tank instead using gate way, that was possible in 2004. I played a lot of times on caen allready and getting spawn back and blow up cp en than destroy tank i saw it happen a few times allready.
Moverscale to 1.2 instead of 1? Will make spamming the tank harder and it will be faster.

good map, its just too easy to defend
Attack is really hard and thus defending is kinda easy sometimes.. especially on the first stage its hard for axis to get the flag.. thats what I experienced on that map

so annoying when u spawn...

played it like 10 times so here's what I think about the map;

-first stage is quite often too easy to defend, you have 2 chokepoints and no other route to the flag
-tank route is too long and it's too easy to defend with 2 fops, just spam the tank
-too many spawns for axis, 4 is really too much
-remove the benches in the church if you're gonna set a spawn there, quite annoying
-boat spawn is both annoying for axis and allies; axis get stuck on the boat, on the rail, sometimes you just get choked there and for allies it's really crap that axis spawn on the place where they the docs need to be brought to, gl securing it when you get 4 axis guys spawn on you


also, if you want feedback on te_escape2; IT SUCKS(but for minor changes, MOVE THE AXIS SPAWN AWAY FROM ALLIES CP FFS)
