yesterday u said smtn else :<

can u also put in a cd, or only an usb stick for drivers?
Parent
ja, kan ik er nu wel of niet een cd instoppen? een ja of nee was sneller geweest :D
Parent
zal straks laten weten
Parent
Yes, you can, because:

If you look at the specs you see an Optical drive. If you google for that drive, you will see a Samsung optical drive, which means that you can put your cd's and dvd's in it, and be able to use them!!

:o)

I c what u did thar!

Dankje!

QuotePS/2 or USB?
PS/2 wins on three fronts: First, it supports full n-key rollover. Second, PS/2 keyboards aren't polled, but are completely interrupt based. And third, it is impossible for it to be delayed by the USB bus being used by other devices. There are two types of USB transfer modes - the interrupt transfer mode (USB polls keyboard, when key is sensed the USB controller sends the interrupt to the CPU), and the isochronous transfer mode, which reserves a certain amount of bandwidth for the keyboard with a guaranteed latency on the bus. Unfortunately, there are absolutely no keyboards made that use the latter, because special controllers would have to be used, thus making it cost prohibitive.

Well obviously better indeed, but, needed? Can you even notice the difference between PS/2 in USB in a game?
Parent
Can you notice the 2ms waste time difference between a good TFT and a good CRT either in game? Yet some people here complain about that also.
Parent
don't be ridiculous, I have both and the difference is unbelievable

e: oh and thanks for pointing me to that article, was a very interesting read : )

I just can't believe it, you bought some bad stuff then or your eyes are way better than mine.

I used to have a good 19" crt, switched that to a crappy Dell 25ms tft, switched that again to a Syncmaster with 5ms, and didnt notice any difference, only had to get used to the 16/10 aspect ratio.

I have a very good CRT and a very good LCD TFT. The difference in games like Quake and ET where I was used to play with r_displayrefresh 120 is enormous. Not even talking about the 16:9 wide-screen ratio here, as I was used to 4:3 ratio.

I bought the TFT I am using now after reading multiple very trustful, positive reviews. It is one of the best and pretty cheap LCD monitors, though it doesn't have 120hz, but the monitors that do are too expensive for me and their image quality is not so good as I heard.

The TFT: BenQ G2220HD
The CRT: Samtron 78BDF

I agree with h3ll for the most part, I actually /don't/ like gaming on CRTs and my regular old Acer 23" @ 60hz I have no visual lag (I use to play at 43fps and on shittier screens I know what it can look like lol) beyond fps lag for whatever reason.
Parent
gaming on a 60hz monitor is just terrible...
Parent
Nope I can't either, and I even have 5ms. :DD
Parent
I don't want to be nosy, but those 5ms mean gray to gray response time. 2ms and 5ms response times are just marketing..
Parent
Well ok then but what is the difference that you notice then, or that I should notice?
(this is more about your upper reply eh)
Parent
preparing a long reply, just wait : )

Input lag in comparison with a CRT monitor (the less the better): http://pclab.pl/art41137-56.html

ASUS VH198D: http://pclab.pl/art41137-15.html

AOC e936Swa: http://pclab.pl/art41137-11.html

Compare those two monitors by viewing the pictures that are at the bottom - this is the difference between two LCD monitors. The ASUS one has the least measured input lag and is not smearing. The AOC has also a very small input lag, but is smearing.

Now that was for the part of smearing, which many monitors, even the very expensive ones, have. Smearing is independent of the input lag.

What do you need input lag for? Well, watch how the input lag influences the output lag.

CRT output lag = 1 second/FPS + 0 ms display response time
TFT output lag = 1 second/FPS + 1 second/FPS + 16 ms display response time + input lag

CRT output lag = 1/125 + 0 ms display response time = 8 ms delay
TFT output lag = 1/125 + 1/125 + 16 ms display response time + 30 ms input lag = 52 ms delay

CRT output lag = 1/43 + 0 ms display response time = 24 ms delay
TFT output lag = 1/43 + 1/43 + 16 ms display response time + 30 ms input lag = 94 ms delay

30 ms input lag is about the average of the monitors listed in the upper link.

Add the 120hz to the CRT monitors, which means that they have no smearing at all and there comes the answer what is best for gaming.

Nice summary, explains a lot really but lol wtf, cant believe my eyes cant see that difference :D Maybe I should connect my crt again as second monitor and try it out :x
Parent
I bought my LCD only 2 weeks ago so the memories of my CRT are still very present in my eyes : (

Haha , die kri gaat ownen op lan !!
