they were seeded 5th, i didnt expect them to win at all. after h2k beat fnatic i thought they are unstoppable but pwr must have played one of the best matches ever. its nice to see though, as they are playing together for a long time
Just figured you might know where one is :D .. the coverage for ET is so much better than CoD 4 when it comes to replays of matches.. Part of the reason ET is still active and CoD 4 is slowly dying
Yes.. in America it has been on the steady decline since last year. It seems there were huge events just a year ago with so many teams playing. Now I hardly see any news about it and you have to admit that it is not as popular as it was a year ago. lol?
name 3 decent CoD4 teams from America that anybody in the rest of the world has heard of. Should also do the same for CS (go with 5 here :P). Just because the scene is dead in America, doesn't mean it's dead in general :D:D
I never said the scene was dead. I said it was dying, which means that the popularity of competition is declining. Which by all accounts seems to be the case. Also I am pretty sure everyone has heard of Pandemic. But that has nothing to do with what my point is. Which is that the entire CoD4 scene is not as popular as it was a year ago. If you can show me some evidence to prove otherwise I will gladly shut up.
still seems to be as many LANs as in the past, with i-Series still going on, CC7, AEF off the top of my head. I don't really follow the scene much, but from what I have seen many of the competitive international teams are still running around playing tournaments, last CB EC was also quite successful and saw some decent talent. ok, fair enough, who am I kidding, it isn't as alive as say 2008, but I think the COD crowd will stick around with 4 for a while to come (simply because WaW and MW2 were both rather disappointing compwise)
No idea but I remember they won some big European LAN event where 3-4 USA teams showed up, thats why I was saying the game is declining, you don't see NA teams coming to EU Lans anymore.
I guess Americans just dislike EU LANs in general, even in CS which is still quite alive nowadays, you see pretty much just EG and occasionally Patyojon + his boys from x3o/gravitas and then the only events they go to are ESWC and WCG =/
get Steam (free) and buy CS, it's literally $9.99... pretty cheap if you ask me :P I think source is 19.99 or so, the package might have a discount (though it includes some other shit games)
