seriously, i'm either superfucking intelligent or this wasn't confusing AT ALL, what is so hard in figuring out that there are 4 dreams overall? they planned 3, leonardo's wife screwd up the 3rd, so he went deeper into the 4th dream, can't be that fucking confusing
I must say I got this all during the movie too, the only thing I forgot and was remembered of at the end was that we saw an old saito at the beginning of the movie.
That picture is still fun too look at though if you forgot the details when thinking about the movie later :)
the end is pure brilliant
it can still be amazing if everything was made from his own mind so he will think he is in the real world, he already said that sometimes you won't realize if you are in a dream or reality
The point is that during the "real world" or the specific universe that is percieved as the "real world" he spins the whirlwig a couple times to see if it would fall or not. Every single time it drops. As he said, when in a dreaming state the whirlwig will never drop, which concludes that the "real world" universe is definitely NOT a dreamworld. That's why it's retarded to have that ending because that universe can never ever be a dream or else his theory about the "little object that only its keeper knows" is complete bs - which would make the movie bs too.
It's what I thought, but because he knew his wife's little keeper, then he knew how it weights and could actually fake it in his dream, so even if he is in a dream world the whirlwig can fall, since with the whirlwig he made an inception on his wife
Ye but the whirlwig was his own tool after his wife died. You could say that all that could be made up in one huge dreamworld, but that would be pretty far-fetched :p
that's why we don't know, each prefer his own end, eventhough there is a flaw in the end (or could be just we didn't follow specific detail(s), or is just a bit more complicated
anyhow, i really liked how the end turned out, and the movie itself was just one amazing experience
its different genre but it's fucking amazing, if you liked into the wild, then somehow you will also find this attractive (they are different movies, but both are a bout a journy and a sad movie)
Anyway, if the movie left you confused at the theatre here is a nice picture to get it all into perspective.
