I believe that's what I read somewhere when I was in Norway & Sweden some years ago, I wondered why there were any Finnish's flag on 'Scandinavian T-shirts'.. Plus I said really
"[...]The clearest example of the use of the term "Scandinavia" as a political and cultural construct is the unique position of Finland, based largely on it having been part of Sweden, thus to much of the world properly associating Finland with all of Scandinavia.[...]"
But of course, officially it isn't. :) You catch what I mean though.
well we(atleast the people i know) dont wear shoes inside there house where there is carpet and other surfaces but i imagine in school the are harder surfaces such as tiles where no shoes would be uncomfortable
I personally think its related to good education, people are more aware of what's happening in this world, the so called truth, while some people get heavily depressed, some don't seem to care, some want to make a change, some kill themselves and in rare occasions some decide to take some people with them while killing themselves.
Finland has the highest suicide rates and lots of depression which can be seen in alcohol usage.
Got this saying "Pahoinvointikansa hyvinvointivaltiossa" = "feel sick folk in good wealth nation" roughly translated
i miss my english teacher so much, she was so beautiful (gold hair, a lot of red lipstick, very skinny, cute small tities, blue eyes....most amazing ass you will ever see

People are too intelligent and so they become too realistic.
People know where the world is going.
Realism leads to depression.
Im a last year student myself in university of applied sciences, energy technology engineering, 23 years old and some of the students in my class are pretty depressed. Finnish parents have high expectations what comes to career and the quality of life in the future.
"Explaining why the Finns score high is not easy". Really? The video pretty much made it obvious why the Finnish educational system is better than most others. More funding, (better qualified) teachers, support, smaller class sizes, less centralization, streamlined progress between schools (only a small number of counties in the UK use first, middle and high rather than primary and secondary schools), less contact time and a better educational culture.
Most of these ideas could not work in the UK though... :<
I believe that french schooling is even worse than german schooling, let alone finnish.
:D

That's sad though, people in general, and especially young people should be enjoying life, thinking yourself unhappy is a waste.
