Battle of zeh phones

My phonecontract ended and I got all kinds of offers and since I've been having the same old nokia for years now I'm glad to get a new awesome one. I've been given some options and I'm kinda stuck between the HTC Desire and the Samsung Galaxy. The iPhone is not an option.

I've read some reviews and comparisons and it seems like the Galaxy has the better hardware (camera, screen, speaker, higher benchmark tests) while the Desire has the smoother software and app options. Besides that, with the deal I'd be getting I'd get faster internet with the Desire then with the Galaxy.

Does anyone here have experiences with these phones they'd like to share and some advice on what to pick? :)

Well, I read that the software that enables you to slide across the screens and widgets is smoother at the Desire, with it having less hickups as well.

Well, friend of mine got the desire and its fkin awesome... 1000x better than my iPhone.
If you can get it go for the HTC Wildfire

Yeah, the thing is, they're both awesome, so I'll be a happy man regardless of which one I'll take, but it's just that I have to choose :P

ive got a BB its pretty amazing, so easy to use, the 'scroll' thing is amazing, the qwerty is good and i hate touchscreen phones anyway wich this one isnt

I've got the HTC Desire with the last android version (froyo, 2.2). It's amazing. U can record HD video and others prety cool stuff.
