the vista.jpg -> no not rly.. was some eyecandy which i turned off after 2 weeks because it caused alot of fps lags in games.

the win7.jpg -> yes.. the toolbar is pretty usefull, seeing how much i curently upload/download is handy too in case my internet is slow and i wonder why.. for cpu/ram -> yes also useful and yes i also take a look at it from time to time. foobar thing is just eyecandy.. wlan thingy shows how high/low the connection is, so this one is sometimes nice too.

all in all its just 75% eyecandy and 25% usefull.

@edit: on my homeserver its usefull.
using it for seeding/downloading torrents and some other stuff.. there are alot of nice tools with rainmeter which give a quick and nice overview (torrent ratio,server uptime, hdd usage, current upload/download speed since i dont want to make the whole network lagging e.g. when playing,......)

like i care if its cool or not.. i´m the one who looks at my desktop from time to time.. pretty much no one else.. so i have to like the way it looks and works like. others can gtfo :)

conky did occasionally come in handy if you could find a decent theme but to make one/invest time in it yourself is kind of a waste of time
