Exactly the english got a select few of high authority scots to enter into the act of union with england joining the two and creating the united kingdom without the acceptance of the scottish people.The whole of scotland's people was against it but england conned a few high up scots to sign the agreement going against the will and the right's of the scottish people.The english done it to try and control the scots from uprising and fighting anymore wars against england, because the then king of england had ideas to go elsewhere in the world and expand his kindgdom and he couldnt do that if he was having a war with scotland again. With the act of union in place he then had the use of the scots to fight wars for the so called "British" empire.Without the act of union and the scots fighters the british empire would never have existed as england would have been to weak to creat an empire alone, espicailly if they were fighting with scotland again.
seems a bit narrowminded to forgive/forgot thousands of years of brutallity and slavery under the british - just because now the relationship isnt that bad

Well, the genetic contribution of Anglosaxons to the British gene pool is in reality quite low if I'm correct. Most of the British population descends from pre-migration settlers.
Depends on the areas I guess, some had more than others and what not. Some of our ancestors were northmen who travelled and settled in before moving down south to any way! :PP

I was actually talking specifically about England I don't know why I used British in the first place instead of English. And I doubt the genetical contribution of the Northmen to these areas is really significant.
