Sky Sports News to leave Freeview *UK*

Sky Sports News will be leaving the Freeview lineup on Monday 23rd August 2010. From this date, the Sky Sports News channel will be a subscription-only channel. Sky Sports News HD also launches on Sky on 23rd August The slot on Freeview will be replaced by Sky 3 + 1 Share and Enjoy:

i ( ok my father ) have skysports

can watch bundesliga, dfb pokal, euro league, champions league and i guess ( but not sure ) even premier league + the spanish

e: lol r we talkin about the same stuff ?

mmm, looks like if i just wanted sky sports for the US Open it would cost me £20 extra for just the month, £30 if i wanted that in HD...

think i'll try net streaming it first

i'm sure there would be site/s dedicated to capping matches of major tournies and you would be able to torrent them.

though obviously there would be a delay..

yeah i'm fairly sure usopen will be available on hdbits but well, would prefer to watch live ofcourse! if i can't find a suitable stream though i guess i can wait, should only take a few hours for the hd torrents to surface after the final i suppose

And it costs that much extra even as a SkyHD customer? Jeezo. I pay £24 a month for Sky Sports HD package ontop of my XXL TV package with Virgin. Got XL broadband too so I'm like £93 out of pocket each month for 2 TVs :(
