Capello to resign as ENGLAND Manager

England boss Fabio Capello has confirmed that he will step down as national team manager following Euro 2012.

QuoteEngland coach Fabio Capello has confirmed that he will quit as national team manager after Euro 2012.

After England’s dismal display in this summer’s World Cup, many pundits called for Capello to resign, but the Italian has managed to win his critics over by guiding his team to impressive back to back qualifying victories over Bulgaria and Switzerland.

With six points and seven goals from those two games, England are in pole position to qualify, and another win against Montenegro next month would only strengthen their position.

However, it seems that if England can continue their good form and qualify for Euro 2012, it will be Capello’s last actions as coach.

When questioned about whether the tournament would be his last as England manager, Capello responded in a typically upfront manner.

“Absolutely. Yes,” he told reporters.

"We have to qualify first of course but after that I will be too old.

"I want to enjoy my life as a pensioner."

Great, now we will have England fans saying they want an English coach and this will lead to failure just like Steve McClaren
i'd like to see Beckham (fanboy) or Redknapp (good manager) :P:P

Beckham won't become a manager, cant see Redknapp leaving Tottenham for England

wouldn't count Beckham out tbh, if he doesn't do it yet he may do in a few years

Redknapp good manager, LOL you must be far from home.

+1, i cant think of a single English manager who would do well with England at a national level (except maybe Redknapp)
Parent
...why would he resign after 2 decent wins?
his contract is expiring in 2012, thats when hes gonna retire from football
Parent
what is his age? He'll come back anyway ;)

Everyone knew that already except for some frogs in the brazilian rainforest, no need to make a journal about that.
Hope Redknapp gets the job after Capello resigns, if he wants it.
