Need PC advice pls

My mate is looking for a desktop PC and has about 500 pounds to spend..

Can you recommend me a decent setup for him so he'll be able to play most games at a decent fps etc

It has a CPU, hence it is a computer, it is owned by a person, hence it is personal, just put it on your desk and you have a desktop P(ersonal)C(omputer)!

desktop doesnt mean, putting a console on a desk. Its more the visible Content of the System is on top. So it would be right, if u put the TV on the desk.

But i have to admit in general
