Hello my dear finnish people,
Coming to Finland this weekend. Anything particular to see, visit or go to some other cities? How to reach Helsinki the cheapest way? Why hostels are so damn expensive?

Taxi tampere-helsinki 500€ (wild guess)
train ~40€
buss ~30-40€
Probably it's best to move with train if u want to go between the cities.
And it's kinda cold here already, so take warm clothes :D
If you get a cheap travel to Tallinn you can take a ferry from there, lowest prices start from ~20€.
Check www.ryanair.com for plane prices to Tampere, ridiculously cheap. Did it for you, friday-sunday, there and back, Total 86.27 LVL
EDIT: Tampere hostel http://dreamhostel.fi/en/rooms-rates/ (if you are not afraid of shared room, though it isn't any season now so there won't prolly even be anyone.
Helsinki, just google, don't know any better, http://www.hostels.com/helsinki/finland
EDIT2: And basically there isn't anything special to see, at least not in fall.
Gigs Helsinki: http://meteli.net/tapahtumahaku?a=pe-su&l=70 (Metalheim)
Gigs Tampere: http://meteli.net/tapahtumahaku?a=pe-su&l=400 (nothing)
anyway thank you for such an extensive information! We had Riga-Tampere-Riga ryanair tickets already, so it was actually the main reason to plan a trip.:) So here is what I came up with:
1) we arrive in Tampere in the evening and go to the center - 6EUR
2) spend a night in a dreamhostel - 22.50EUR
3) next morning go to Helsinki - 30EUR (possibly with 15% discount since we are 3, but student discount of 50% works only for finnish students)
4) in the late evening we take a ferry to Tallinn - 23EUR
5) when we arrive we spend a night in the hostel - 9EUR
6) next day at midnight we take a bus to Riga - 10EUR, voila
All in all 100 euros to see 3 cities (without food expenses and stuff) is pretty a good value I think:)
When we stayed at Tallinn, we were at http://hostel.alur.ee/ decent hostel in the middle of Old Town, good cooking are etc. Was 12€ per night, though it was summer season then.
Might wanna take a sightseeing tram @ helsinki (if its still running this late in fall)
I think Viking Line was cheaper then Tallink , atleast last time I went to .fi

smaller ship, faster?, cheaper. You get a 20% discount if you buy a ticket back to eesti as well.
Just one thing that it doesnt go off with a very stormy weather like we had here a few days ago .
from tampere airport to tampere railway station with the bus (ticket about 6 € )
from there you reach Helsinki with the train in about 90 mins (ticket for the train about 30€ )
as Statti said you should sleep at Omenahotel. We also stayed there (address Yrjönkatu 30, in centrum 5 mins from the railway station) and just paid 117€ for 4 days (3 people).
