If that floor-bush-2d-shit on the very right side of the sugar-creamed floor actually stays in the final version, I've got a welding mask and machete to prepare.
I highly doubt that this is an official screenshot. Rather looks like some ET mapper took a random screenshot of his playaround with the WIP xreal-et subversion files.
Atleast this looks crap and does not show what the engine/renderer is capable of (and neither is it posted on the xreal-et homepage). Guess you just got this from the SD forums where I already saw it earlier?
You might want to add this to your journal in order to avoid misunderstanding.
€: btw, this gives a better impression of what is possible with the renderer, eventhough its not from Xreal-ET but a game project using the engine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bh5NQ1iT3Gg
its a program with minimizer, & many things, and there is an option to force X core ( 1 / 2 / 4 ) every X seconds, or you can just use a bind smth like CTRL + B to put 4 cores ( but working only 1 round )
I created that screenshot purely for testing. None of the settings had been finetuned I merely wanted to test some bump maps.
It's so shiney because of overdone specular maps but it was merely for demonstrating that it worked to begin with..
Same goes for the walls, also overdone, they normally have an actual brick color.
Here's some more screens though (also: not finetuned, taken on same day which is like 2 weeks ago already):
Also XreaL-ET is a project focussed on replacing the renderer not update the whole game like some seem to imply (wondering if textures stay in the final version for example.. these textures/maps have nothing to do with that), also you should get better/more stable FPS's using it without the optional fancy graphics running vanilla ET maps so it's a win/win situation even if you don't plan on playing updated maps.
This doesn't magically turn maps like grush into a shiney gfx map, they look practically the same as they always do without recompiling so everyone who's whining that they want to keep playing ET as it is think about that. Nothing will change for you beside the possibility of getting better FPS's.
walls model is fucking ugly :D
Stop using hax!
/mad

So please shut the fuck up. Thanks
was here
I'm talking about some people I'll have to visit.
If that bush stays.
Oh my god, is it gross.
So fuck off with this please..
and you're 9 days too late.

4 cores are set every 30s automaticly.
